“As a Black, gay man who has spent his whole life fighting for civil and human rights, they cannot shut me up,” he said in a statement. “Expect a legal challenge.”
Any other victim category he’d like to assert? Nothing he listed is a defense. It reads like a Cuomo con.
No one made him resign. He most certainly could have stayed and fought for his seat and his innocence, but decided to resign before an investigation got underway, likely because what would be uncovered was a lot more of the same or worse.
The inherent misogyny of lefties switching all blame from Al “Handsy” Franken to Kirsten Gillibrand of all people is depressing. Al Franken cut & ran. Period.
As I recall… and I could be wrong about this, my memory ain’t what it used to be… Secretary Clinton was very often obviously “over-prepared”, and that’s just inexcusable in a [female] candidate for any office. Again, he’s the president of the HRC. Defending someone against these accusations puts the reputation of his organization at risk, and he’s supposed to put the HRC first. He didn’t. They were right to fire him.
