I was hosting a limo tour of Manhattan with four Russians when one of them asked to see where Lenin died. I said I thought Lenin died in Moscow and he said he meant John Lennon.
The retired cop limo driver pulled a u-turn in the middle of Times Square and delivered us to the nearby Brownstone.

She lost Bill’s health care policy by making it all about her presidential ambitions.
She lost to Barack Obama, because unlike her, he had charisma.
She lost to TFG because she was too arrogant to bother campaigning in her “firewall” states.
I’m glad Biden will have nothing to do with her.

She lost to Obama because she was stupid enough to have supported the invasion of Iraq and Obama was smart enough to have spoken out against that very dumb and bad idea in advance of it. The charisma definitely helped though.

But was there a preponderance of evidence against Cuomo at the time that David was helping to investigate an accuser’s background? Remember it was a VERY short time ago, that Cuomo was considered a strong ally of women and the Me Too movement.
Remember Tara Reade? Some were publicly saying that Joe Biden should drop out of the 2019 primaries when Ms. Reade came forward with her harassment accusations. It is only when someone investigated Tara Reade’s background, in the same manner that Alphonso David did with Boylan, that those accusations were discredited.
Sadly Boylan’s story is more credible. Cuomo is getting what he deserves. But punishing all those who did their job, defending the governor while these accusations were still only accusations smacks of a witch hunt.

HRC itself is a pretty hackish organization. It’s mostly corporatist in its approach. Its signature issue was gay marriage but rarely the most out in front. When Maryland was debating gay marriage, they adopted a wait and see position and then it passed! ACLU is much better on this issue. HRC has been similarly lazy on labor rights–they highlight their donors’ policies but advocate for nothing. HRC probably sees this mostly in terms of optics rather than ethics.
