What Did Donald Trump And Jim Jordan Talk About On Jan. 6? | Talking Points Memo

Kudlow, a former top official in President Donald Trump’s administration, told his Fox staff not to book U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) as a guest because he did not want “the Black” on his show that day, according to a lawsuit by a Fox producer.

That producer, John Fawcett, also alleged that Fox News contributor Andrew Napolitano sexually harassed him in an elevator in 2019, with network execs ignoring complaints. Napolitano, a former New Jersey judge, harassed other men at the network, according to Fawcett’s lawsuit.

Cheney plays tape of Fox interview with Tucker Carlson. Asks, “Did you say XYZ on the teevee like we just saw you do on that tape?”

I got nothing to hide, except:

When I talked to him
What we talked about
What was said by each of us
Whether or not Trump told me not to talk

Other than that, I’m an open book.

On December 21 Gym Jordan knew rethugs were going to try to stop the certification. He also knew three would be a rally at the Ellipse that would be sent up to the capitol.
He ie definitely a member of a conspiracy to throw out the election.

Jeffrey Bossert Clark, the midlevel DOJ official Trump considered installing as acting attorney general to perpetuate the Big Lie, is now working for a conservative legal group that is fighting COVID-19 mandates.

Can someone, anyone, explain what the end game is here? How can killing off your supporters, while considered desirable in many quarters, possibly be advantageous their “cause”?

Death cult explanations don’t count.

Just about all of this can be derived from the twisted mind of Donald J. Trump.

The party that is against government interference with business…wants to interfere with internal business decisions and regulate what a business does?

Who would have ever expected such hypocrisy from them?

Another great article. I wish the level of discourse in this country was more like this, and less like a family thansgiving dinner. And I wish journalists and editors wrote with this insight, knowledge, and clarity.

But if wishes were fishes, we’d all cast nets, or, whatever it is…

Personally I’m not comfortable with the words “Jim Jordan” and “drip, drip, drip” in the same post.

Which is why he will have frequent and tearful “memory lapses” designed to demonstrate that the democrats just called him to be mean and partisan.

Let’s not forget who the victim is here.

Some think a high death count, regardless the circumstances or states it occurs in, and those truly at fault, allows the GOP to claim Biden has blown his pandemic response. Therefore the GOP needs put in charge of Congress in 2022, and the Presidency in 2024, to get the job done right. Not a specific strategy, but nevertheless the situation presents them a golden opportunity to exploit for their own Machiavellian purposes.

Well played, well played. It wasn’t intentional on my part, but your comment is clear. I will need to write more carefully when Jordan is the topic.

What I can’t figure out is why he keeps doing these interviews. If I was him, I’d make myself scarce for a while. Surely he doesn’t think this is helping his case.

Yes! Repeatedly saying “I don’t recall” will probably look about as bad as repeating whatever was actually said that day. While the goal of the committee is certainly to get at the truth, it’s also to expose every last one of these traitors. Gym Jordan claiming over and over again that he doesn’t remember anything that day accomplishes exactly that. Not to mention the other antics he will most definitely perform when/if he testifies. That stuff may impress MAGAtLand, but so what? Those aren’t the voters we’re trying to reach.

I want someone interviewing Jordan to ask "So, you say you can’t recall anything regarding your meeting with and phone call to T****? Is this the same type of memory loss you’ve been suffering since you were at Ohio State?

Jordan has aides, and though the aide(s) may not have heard what Trump was saying they should be compelled to testify what they heard Jordan say.
IANAL but wouldn’t an investigation into where and when Jordan was making and taking calls that day be a starting point?
