WH Officials Think Trump Derision Of People Of Color Is A ‘Bad Move’

We’ll see Stevie, we’ll see. If his dementia really progresses to the point where he can’t walk and/or he has some obvious public break-down (more obvious than the ones he’s already had) I think things will absolutely change, if only because it will then become an official topic that the media is allowed to discuss.

The Republican Party has become the party of white trash.

According to people briefed on the discussion who spoke to the Times, several White House officials agreed during a recent meeting with senior staff that rhetoric wasn’t helpful, but said they didn’t know if they could or should try to stop the President.

At best these “White House officials” and “senior staff” are a pack of sniveling cowards.

More likely they are weaponizing the NYT yet again, and it would take a fair amount of credulity to believe that the NYT proceeds unaware.

Gee … do you think there is anybody in the White House who would actually say …?

" we are seeing this racist rhetoric as a brilliant move - it will have the effect of turbo-boosting our bigoted base - which is generally engaged - and exclusively for Trump - but, since it is not the largest segment of the population, we are going to need near maximum turnout from these aggressively hate-filled bastards"

Agree X 1,000.

Hillary’s role as a health care czar bothered me a lot in the Clinton administration, but I never thought she had her hand in the cookie jar. These two do.

Anyone with a heart or a brain knows this is a bad move.

Unfortunately that doesn’t include his base, who are primarily concerned with enacting revenge on whoever Fox tells them is the enemy.

She always knows her stuff, technically speaking, but she has never been skilled at politics – even with her fellow Democrats, never mind Republicans. For that reason and one or two others, I thought even back then that it was a mistake for her to be so openly involved in that effort.

As for Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, the less I say about them the better.

The Republican Party.

Yes. He jumped the shark with this attack on Cummings and his raging racism about Baltimore. A different order of magnitude from his earlier, casual, unthinking racism. Focused and deliberate cruel racist language. No control at all.

He’s mentally ill.

The real danger if the prick wins reelection is all the can’t-say-that-out-loud Republicans changing their minds.

The media openly discusses the fact he’s an habitual liar, a racist, a xenophobe, a misogynist, a fabulist, a phllanderer, a serial bankrupter of businesses, in bed with the Russians. lazy, likely illiterate, inattentive and easily distracted in critical national security and domestic policy briefings, vindictive and consumed with exacting revenge for the merest slight and all around unsuited for the job. Yet some polls show upwards of approval ratings in the mid-40% range. Coincidentally garnering just above the mid-40% of the electorate won him the Presidency.

Exactly. He is going to be shit on their shoes from now on. He was already on thin ice, now he is under water. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving asshole (except Trump-Epstein and more)

Trump knows what he is doing, he is provoking people of color into doing or saying something so that he can force non racist white people into taking sides and he will present himself as the protector of white Christian people, the sad thing is that it may well work.

My thoughts exactly. It looks like prominent Republicans are down to stealing as much as they can on their way out the door. Some might hang on for a couple cycles but eventually (and this is up to us) they will be shamed/voted out of public life. Demographics have long predicted the near extinction of the GOP. It is coming.

Why is the “hugely” orange hypocrite really after Cummings? Could be for many reasons, but there are news items such as this:
