The idea that Congress would support a massive giveaway in the months just before a major election is truly surprising. Such things never happen in Russia in the months ahead of the Duma elections. On the other hand, I would support this bill in a New York minute if it was named in aspirational terms such as the â2020 Act to Keep Coronavirus Deaths to Five People per Millionâ. (South Korea is currently at 2 deaths per million, Italy at 128 per million).

Thankfully, for me, horse barns are still open as âagricultural activities.â Itâs not like they can close down anyway, since stalls need to be cleaned, horses need to be fed, and they need to be exercised and turned out for sunshine and fresh air. Theyâre pretty low risk regardless. Itâs open air, no big groups of people, and being on a horse is almost self-enforcing social distancing.

Can they afford the lawsuits? Theyâd better have some deep pockets. I understand itâs a horrible position to be in, but not everyone who can be resuscitated is 90 years old and on their way out anyway.
