One set of eyes here who won’t be watching.

My people are on it…and are watching…and my people are probably YOUR people. So I’ll thank 'em for both of us.

I’m just going to read the comments on this thread. So much more edifying, informative, and entertaining.

From NBC, looks like a bunch of GOP chumps are complaining because The Poars maybe getting an extra $1.86 they’re not supposed to get. Will they sink it or simply delay it is the question…

I’ll just put this right here, as a precursor to today’s bullshit-fest. “Surprise: Trump Started Itching to End Social Distancing After His Six Most Profitable Clubs Closed.”

They have principles. They’ll kill 10 million before giving a poor person one dime he doesn’t deserve.

So is Pence doing anything beyond being a potted plant? Trump just took over it seems.

Silly poor person. Money is for the rich.

I won’t watch but will come back for the comments. It is just another episode of the Coronavirus Apprentice.

Fuck these people. It is tiresome to hear the constant bullshit. We have plenty of good role models out there, plenty of countries doing things right. Just pick some. Denmark has a roughly 2-week lead on the US in terms of outbreak. Its solutions from a public health standpoint are completely unremarkable. Testing aggressively. Shutting schools and universities a couple weeks ago. Border closings. Protection of hospitals (also so they can maintain their other services) and staff with off-site testing and diversion. The economic package, in contrast, should have been the first consideration of the US congress. Indeed, the Danish response would be great, had it not been for the 2017 tax breaks. Congress has to spend money it doesn’t have and monetary stimulus won’t fix this. The result is even less credibility.

That makes the more modest fiscal stimulus of Singapore more relevant, as it is doable without so much long-term pain. Singaporean business is wise in noting that global demand won’t be coming back quickly, because some countries are running a good response, while others are just hot messes. Maybe a start for Congress would be to lower the bar real far and just try not to be a hot mess any more. We are now seeing hundreds of unnecessary deaths daily because of a depleted and uncoordinated public health response.

THIS IS NOT “NEWS” absent Fauci saying something, this is just propaganda and Trump trying to stroke his ego, as Trump’s actions make the USA indisputably #1 in Covid-19 illness.

Probably gonna happen on Friday at the going rate… We are currently at 62,086 infections, Italy is at 74K, and China is at 81K, but we are adding more than 11K infections a day, and the rate is increasing.

Statistically Trump can take is crown of death about tomorrow at noon-ish.

Golf courses are closed here, and no one’s bellyaching esp. not golfers. But of course they don’t have a financial stake in them being open.

I think we are all just planning to cut and paste the comments from yesterday. Time saving tip.

Yep closed here too. Turns out that golf is nonessential.

Municipal courses and driving ranges were open and had people here today. (San Antonio)

[Looked over the web sites, a posting explained Golf was exempt and a variety of rules now in effect. So I am presuming the private courses are equally open.]

Not so sure they will have “good news” to report: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/25/bernie-sanders-4-gop-senators-threaten-to-hold-up-coronavirus-stimulus-bill.html

Note that the headline calls it Sander’s fight with GOP Senators; way to miss the point. It started with four Gooper idiots threatening to block the bill over unemployment provisions. Bastards. Graham, Tim and Rick Scott, and Ben Sasse. Great American patriots, even one; they are concerned that lazy people won’t have an urge to work if we give them too much UI. I hope soon these four are unemployed.

My hair stylist’s shop is closed. Fortunately I don’t have to rely on touch ups, but I may have to get a Scrunchie for the ponytail length of hair I’ll have pretty soon.
