Last night, as I awaited more TV news from Maine (my brother and a number of friends live there, including a friend in Bowdoin), I googled Robert Card. Halfway down the first page of entries (so frequently visited, apparently) I spotted a site I did not link to. I could read this much, something to the effect, “It’s no coincidence that this shooting happened on the night of the day Biden’s corruption of the FBI was fully exposed. It is a distraction.” The conspiracy crazies were wasting no time.

What Mainers in the Lewiston area are experiencing is the nightmare most of us try to suppress - the knowledge that some whack-job with guns could decide to randomly mow down their neighbors. Hope they find the shooter soon. No one deserves to live in fear because the SC has decided that we have to put up with millions of armed crazies as a condition of citizenship.

I’m really getting tired of Fat Boy being referred to as a “threat to democracy.” He’s only a threat to the extent that we allow him to be one. He is merely the vanguard of a deeply fascist movement whose roots stretch all the way back to Reconstruction (just ask black folks how much of a fascist nation this already is and you might not like the answer) with stops along the way at the KKK, Jim Crow, the American Nazi Party, and entrenched segregation (which was national folks, so don’t excuse your ancestors because you grew up in the north). The problem is we’re only now seeing it all. So the question is, do we have laws or not? Do they matter or not? Do we give enough of a fuck to fight these motherfuckers, or not?

They are doing it all wrong , what about the good guy with a gun? Everybody with the adequate equipment should be out in the streets looking out for the shooter and making their fellow citizens feel safe. Isn’t that the justification of an armed society? Not hiding under the bed, you don’t need guns for that.
