Trump’s efforts to steal CARES Act funds we are told, “would surely prompt anger — if not a lawsuit — from Congress.” No, goddamnit. Not Congress. Maybe from the Democratic House majority, but not from Congress.
I see this reflex in the media all the time–the notion that the separation of powers, and congressional constitutional autonomy, still matters to Republicans. It obviously does not. Rs are and have been for a long while now all about one-party authoritarian rule. The media, including TPM, need to adjust and start reflecting that.

He made that announcement from Bedminster as well, to a crowd of initially maskless collared-shirt wearing country club members. The event turned into a pseudo campaign rally, with Trump calling it a “peaceful protest” after club members starting heckling a reporter who pointed out their lack of social distancing.
i wonder if Governor Murphy regrets kissing Trump’s ass.

Our local news station put up two charts the other night. One said Democratic Legislation and listed the good things in the Democrats’ bill. The other said Republican Legislation and listed the $200 per month in that bill.

So they are going to steal CARES funds targeted to states and the add an unfunded $100 per week per person unemployment mandate to be paid by the state.
Ok. Not gonna work. States will need to layoff a load of people just to cover what they’re losing from CARES and then have to pay in more ( and layoff more) for unemployment.
