Trump Impeachment Lawyers Are Now Representing Alleged Capitol Rioters | Talking Points Memo

Remember Castor is going to announce his candidacy for US Senate in PA being vacated by Republican Toomey who is choosing not to run again
This is the whole story - period. Just trying to get his Trump creds publicized with the hayseeds in PA outside of the Philadelphia area where Castor is based.

I am . . . well aware of . . . a somewhat prominent criminal conviction . . . where the defendant would have been much, much better served by the court-appointed defense attorneys instead of the subsequently retained counsel with a recent improbable acquittal on his resume.

Public defenders and those who accept judicial appointments generally serve their clients – who are nearly all guilty of what they’ve been charged with – pretty well.

And even lawyers defending scrum may not be doing it out if the goodness of their hearts.

You are badly misreading this situation. Trump doesn’t give a shit about any of these defendants. He’s barely ever met Mike van der Peen, who is a low-rent nobody in the the criminal defense world who glommed onto the second impeachment trial purely because Trump literally couldn’t find anyone else to do it. And Trump hates Bruce Castor because his opening argument in that impeachment trial was so shambolically shitty. This is nothing more than a couple of QAnon morons hiring their Orange-Faced God-Emperor’s lawyers because they’re too fucking stupid to think of anything better.

You take everything way too seriously.

Had forgotten about that angle. So it is pro bonehead.

When Trumpistas say that there was no riot, that it was a bunch of antifa agitators who made trouble just to make Trump look bad.

I am surprised that none of these RW shows have grainy pictures of people that can be identified as antifa (or BLM, can’t leave THEM out) but it seems everybody who did crap on camera appear to be long-time Trump supporters (Ofc. Sicknick’s partner, Miss Garza, said HE was a ‘big’ Trump supporter and I wonder at HIS last thoughts as people were screaming Where’s Nancy? and Hang Mike Pence – I get he died of a stroke but the people that were attacking him should be prosecuted for his death, strokes are often-times related to stress.) and I don’t see why they ‘cannot’ find them goldurn antifa/BLM ‘agitators.’ At least people who they THINK are antifa. I think there was one guy in the beginning who was ‘said’ to be antifa, but it turned out he was an ‘antifa for Trump’ kinda-sorta like the ONE BLACK MAN who would show up for Trump rallies and be staged RIGHT BEHIND TRUMP; he was usually the only black man there.

Twenty years ago Castor had his eye on the PA Governorship. As Montgomery County DA (suburban Philadelphia) he declined to prosecute Bill Cosby in the hope that would ingratiate him with the black Philadelphians where Cosby grew up.

Recall James Carville “PA is Philadelphia in the east, Pittsburgh in the west and Alabama in the middle. Dem candidate Fetterman has Pittsburgh, Philly isn’t supporting Castor so his only hope is the upstate “Alabamians” and Jesus loving folks in the middle.

Trump Impeachment Lawyers Now Defending Three Charged On Jan 6

You mean these lawyers?

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/16/us/politics/trump-impeachment-lawyers.html

They did such a good job during the 2nd impeachment trial that they got 7 GOP crossover votes for conviction, the most bipartisan impeachment vote in US history.

Maybe they are trying for an incompetent legal counsel argument on appeal?

Third soldier in the middle row probably had not started shaving yet. I knew a man who lied about his age and at seventeen years old was a Ranger who climbed the cliffs to take out German guns before the landing started on D Day.

If you’re going to shoot a kid, make sure they’re black. You can be out on bond that afternoon. Probably get community service and a fine.

So? Lawyers often specialize.

“Alleged” used to mean “not bragged about (with pictures and video) on social media”

Had an ex-father-in-law that was on a construction/maintenance detail at Henderson Field when he was 17. Big guy, about 6’4", stocky, bamboozled someone to get in early somehow. Had a lot of hair raising stories about running from Japanese strafing in their attempts to retake the airstrip.
