Two that come to mind (for me, YMMV) are Cory Booker and Gretchen Whitmer; there will be more coming up in '28. Whitmer is far more tough and formidable than may seem. Not a Newsom fan after he fucked his campaign manager’s wife.

It seems the Squad were pretty good team players all through the Manchin/Sinema crap, ceding points and programs in an effort to get the important parts over the line. Not sure why there is so little recognition of that. Meanwhile, the much bally-hooed centrists basically strutted around demanding “my way or the highway.” As with TSF, that team player stuff appears to be a one-way street.

I’m half-Canadian – Mom was born and raised in Saint John – and have my certificate of citizenship to prove it. I love visiting and have considered moving there many times, though I’ll admit I’m fazed by the winters.
Still, my favorite Canada story: Back in the late '80s, I drove up to Toronto from upstate NY. Ready to go at a local intersection after stopping – I forget whether there was a light, a stop sign, or merely a sign favoring pedestrians – a man slapped my hood, motioned to the crosswalk he was in, and told me who had right of way by saying, “You’re in Canada now, buddy!” All I could do was laugh. He was right.
He probably went to stand in an orderly bus queue after his un-Canadian outburst.
