Also not mentioned: Connolly won by a landslide, 181-84, or 61% of his fellow Representatives. Huh. I wonder why this isn’t mentioned? AOC will take a leadership role, but evidently she has some fences which still need mending. Which I trust she will do. Their peers trust Connolly, 61% - 39%. But sure; lay all that on Nancy Pelosi.

One would think the world’s richest guy worth over 400 billion could see his way to funding Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid with a one time gift of a billion spread between the 3. But Elmo is waaay too stingy to do it.

Also not mentioned: the-conflict-which-shall-not-be-named, The Squad and their positions relative to that, and impacts (real and perceived) on the election.
I do expect that AOC will mend her way out of this, it’s also hardly surprising that there might be some pretty hard feelings and a reluctance to promote people who didn’t stay in line with the majority of the party.

No. AOC was going to replace Connolly as minority leader on the House Oversight committee. Pelosi was exerting influence behind the scenes. AOC is not replacing Pelosi. Since Connolly has esophogeal cancer and will be undergoing treatment, he should have had the courtesy and self awareness to step aside since he will likely be unable to devote the amount of energy and attention needed for at least some while.

Yup. But the advantage would only have been initial in an open primary. I don’t think she was ever our strongest candidate - but if she had won in an open primary, she would have been much stronger than the way this ended up playing out. In her 107 days she came out still behind but still stronger than if Biden had remained on the ticket. We had, and have, stronger candidates.
