If the Sinaloa Cartel whacks a witness for telling Los Federales where El Chapo is hiding, it’s “retribution.” The justice of the initial act doesn’t matter. “Retribution” is still the correct word.
Trump is seeking retribution against those who sought justice upon him.
I read a Quora contributor named Misha Firer, who allegedly lives in Moscow and reports on the absurdity of Russia. (I say “allegedly” because, if he’s in Russia, I’m surprised he hasn’t had a surprise fall from a window yet. But he’s informative nonetheless.)
Anyway, he noted that after the Russian general was killed by a Ukrainian bomb, a local woman sneered that (I’m paraphrasing from memory) that Ukraine will never break Russia, because they’ve lived through the worst. There’s no misery too awful.
It’s been said before that tcf – or really Bannon – is trying to turn us into Russia, a nihilistic place where few people care and even fewer people are willing to fight back. Based on all the headlines I’ve seen, here and elsewhere, looks like we’re getting there faster than I thought.
