Trump Camp Says Supporters Are ‘Strongly Encouraged’ To Wear Masks At Upcoming Rally

Does anyone know about subsequent covid cases after the church youth rally?
I hate to say it - did that air conditioning system really work? I haven’t heard about the aftermath of tons of cases resulting.

My advice, from a purely medical point of view would be to tell folk to avoid this rally entirely. Crowds are dangerous to one’s health. Trump thinks what he is doing is ok cuz the virus is harmless…he thinks
He is dead wrong. We will surely find that his rallies are aiding in transmission. Apparently he thinks herd immunity is ok.
But he is a fucking idiot. We are going to see spikes of infection in 3 weeks from this stupidity. This is not how to “flatten the curve”. As Q-tip would say.
Masks are not a political statement anymore than seatbelts are.

Has it been 3 weeks since the Phoenix shenanigans? It takes a good 3 weeks or more sometimes to develop covid-19 disease.
Edit
The Phoenix youth rally at that mega church was 13 days ago. It takes snywhere from 3 to 14 days to feel symptoms and more time, usually, to progress to serious illness with this bug.
AZ state has a covid dashboard so google “arizona covid” and look for az dept of health web site.

You bring up my other question. Was there a big crowd on the mall? It was predicted, but I never saw a report.

From the Post article:

Before apologizing, Hicks had sounded a defiant tone over the weekend, calling his critics “liberal Marxist parasites” and insisting the cartoon was fair commentary on a statewide mask order he suggested was “authoritarian.”

Interesting how “Marxist” and “authoritarian” led him to Nazi Germany instead of, you know, Stalin.

Trump brings the same enthusiasm to encouraging people to wear masks that he brought to “admitting” he was wrong about Obama being Kenyan. His heart just isn’t in it. He never sees any reason for thinking he made a mistake - witness the Central Park 5. The sickness of his ego is extremely obvious to any rational human being. Like the effect of a raging alcoholic on the rest of the family, he has dragged us into his mental illness and rendered the entire country more dysfunctional than he found it.

Seatbelts were until state laws made them mandatory–maybe not as politically charged as they would be now, but plenty of people thought they were infringing on personal freedom. It would take law + enforcement + time to get as near-universal routine use of facemasks as was the case for seatbelts. Of course, we have none of the three factors going for us at the moment.

"It is unclear whether Trump will wear a mask at his upcoming rally in Portsmouth. "

As always, though, he will be wearing a size portly XXL adult diaper.

But I thought it was a hoax and that it will magically disappear

My family lived in NH until a couple years ago, and I’m wondering if Trump can still pull a crowd there? The state’s population skews older, and I think people are much more cautious about Covid. It could be another Tulsa as far as attendance
