I am in MD too. Three weeks is way too short a time-frame. I am writing my state reps and senator about an earlier mailing. The primary mailing of ballots was a mess.

Ya know, trump whines about rigged elections. he’s the one doing the rigging!!! … and he is doing it in public!!!. What does the legislative branch do in response? Well the Senate shut down until after Labor Day and there’s a shit load of crickets loose in the House far as I can tell.
Thus is an occasion for this sort of response from someone in government…

Libruls are getting in to the next phase of the war against Christians, next there are going to be saying that God doesn’t even exist. Trump said it well Biden wants to hurt God.
There are many public servants in all branches of this government that are slowly realizing that we are on a fast train to a major political crack up if this man attempts to stay in office after the election. I am thankful that I live is NY and in an area with little virus, but will still take all the precautions and vote in person. It is so sad the the GOP is using our democracy to destroy the democracy that we have. Trump is attacking and no one on the other side seem to be making as much noise in defense.as a nation we need a black lives matter event to protect the US Postal System!

That’s really fascinating - thanks. I never looked it up, just kept assuming I understood what it referred to. I was wrong about the derivation but right about what it means - going to war or going into battle.
