I think this is the biggest story of the day and the week.
The article indicates that the WH corona virus task force has identified the lack of testing (and with it contact tracing)
So even the WH knows that with social distancing being relaxed that the targets for casualties and infections won’t level off as fast and it feels like Wave 1 will dovetail into Wave 2 with few breaks. That the Administration has prioritized ‘opening the economy’ and doesn’t acknowledge the relationship between public health and the economy puts Trump and Pence in a situation where they continue to lie and mislead the public.

We have crossed 1.1 million cases and 64,000 fatalities.
Looking at the early case reports, we already have 3 states not named NY/NJ with 4 figure caseloads. That’s generally a sign of a 30k+ reporting day.
We will very likely be at the doorstep of 70,000 casualties by the end of the weekend and go over that mark next week. At our current pace, we will hit 100,000 fatalities by the end of May. At a more moderate pace, we will reach that number by some time in June. Reaching 100k seems unavoidable given the sheer volume of cases that are in the system today.
