Too Little Too Late: The List Of 11th Hour White House Resignations | Talking Points Memo

Our government has a whole class of higher level politicians clearly lacking in the most basic ability to understand consequences.

They rode a tiger, so yes it is now eating them. It only gets worse.

I can understand National Security personnel and burly Secret Service sticking around to neutralize and contain him. I suggest that some actors be hired to play his “staff” and take his orders and phone calls while Mike Pence takes over for 13 days.

Have they installed the Fischer-Price phones yet?

On second thought, start with the nuclear football.

I like this idea, except for the Dense part. It probably would work, too, he’s that stupid.

The coup appears to have failed. One would think that Capitol Police management (leadership?) now realize there’ll be a new sheriff in town, very soon. Time to clean up their act. Destroy any evidence of their coordination with trump.
The individual cops seen taking selfies with the rioters will regret their decisions. As will those who trespassed congressional offices without hiding their faces. This act of terrorism requires a judicial response. People must pay for the crimes committed here, or it will continue. That includes those who orchestrated and coordinated this coup.

Staying in a leadership position in the government without moving to invoke the 25th NOW is in and of itself cause to believe that that official was on board with Donnie’s effort to overturn the election.

Mulvaney can rest assured that by leaving, he doesn’t have to worry that Trump "might put someone worse in.” There is no one worse than Mulvaney.

Give him a Nerf football. He’s less likely to injury someone, and can be convinced it’s the real thing.

It doesn’t matter if they leave now. It means they tolerated everything up until yesterday. Nothing to be proud of.

I want an investigation. I want to know who helped him organize the march, who helped him make sure the Capitol Police were unprepared for the mob, who was slow off the mark in the Pentagon. He didn’t keep the rally a secret. He has spent weeks inviting his crazies to DC. The Capitol security people had to anticipate the toothless mob would move on the Capitol Building. Hell, the press had anticipated things would get out of hand.

I am pissed at the poor response by the leadership of the DC police alphabet soup. It smells like they were slow on purpose. The fact that they haven’t started rounding up the rioters tells me they have been told let the “very fine people” go.

The thing that stopped yesterday from being a total disaster is the left didn’t go down to the Capitol to counter protest. Thank God for that.

This list: Stephanie Grisham, Rickie Niceeta, Sarah Mathews, Mathew Pottinger and Mark Mulvaney – they are small fry, nobodies. The real cabal of traitors has to be forced out and brought to justice for the January 6 Coup.

Bet they’ll still demand an audit.

Sorry, but I can’t see this as a sign that some have “seen the light”.

FFS, please point to one thing, just one thing over the last 4 years that does NOT point to yesterday being the culmination of events over the last 4 years. If you review his term, how could you possibly come to a different conclusion?

Yesterday was inevitable.
