So 30% of 30% of the Republican Primary electorate (and remember, these are primarily their hardest core voters) is about 10% of his base.
You can’t lose 10% of the base and win a US Presidential election.

Most people think Tesla is a success story but really Musk just traded on tax credits with the big automakers. In short he used the government to get a leg up on the other ev manufacturers. His cars aren’t that good when compared to his competition.

I may as well offer here my usual observation about New England. A lot of the New Englanders who remain Republicans do so because they cling to a notion of what a substantial portion of the party stands for that has been outmoded since Reagan (despite Bush I’s brief regnum) – actually, since Nixon.
In MA, Trumpsters have gained dominance in the Repub party (Repubs are concentrated in a few spots in the state, esp. the southeast). But, even so, Haley got 36% of the votes cast by registered Repubs and any Unaffiliateds who opted for a Repub ballot. I keep wondering who the 1 in 10 voters for Trump in 2020, in my town and county, could possibly be. Whoever they are, Trump got 45% of the vote from my town’s Repub/maybe some small number of Unaffiliateds, and Haley got 53%. That was out of 255 votes cast using a Repub ballot.

Conversely, NOT put money into unwinnable Blood Red House districts. That guy that ran against My Little Margie got $11Million & lost by 30%.

That’s how dominance politics works. The question is, how many of her voters want to be dominated, their intelligence insulted and their wallets fleeced? Trump is for all intents and purposes a criminal boss. But even criminal bosses have their public admirers.

No. We have to present an alternative in every single House district. All of them. Howard Dean was right: it has to be a 50 state strategy.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t make strategic decisions about how much should be invested in each of the 435+ races (I’m including delegate races here). We absolutely should. Maybe $11MM was too much for that race. But we have to have a viable candidate in every race.

Yet to see coverage of the fact that Trump owns Xitter competitor Truth Social. Any chance Trump sells his controlling interest in Truth Social to Musk for cash he needs to post bond in his civil cases? The shares are embargoed (cannot be dumped into the market), so any buyer has to be willing to hold them… not a long list.

Biden per a reporter from Politico, a kinder gentler message but will it work? Probably for some but others will either not vote for POTUS or vote for Trump. Trump is in trouble but you’d never know it from the media coverage.
