Problem with Phillip Bumps analysis on TFG’s view on immigrants is that TFG sees Ivana & Melania as sex objects and nothing else. Has nothing to do with any viewpoint on immigrants.
While Thomas and Alito surely are in the bag, Kavanagh and Barrett still think they are doing law. We’ll see!
True enough, but I recall Chief Justice Balls’n’Strikes assuring us that the Court is not rigged.
I’m sorry I forgot the snark-marker.
The question then is, how much data must we accumulate before we can conclude that Chief Justice Balls’n’Strikes is running a rigged game. We’ve long since passed that point for me, which I thought was well known among us worker bees here in The Hive.
I have no doubt Alito already has a pitched tent.
I hadn’t heard or read in the Berkshire Eagle about the ski resorts. This weather would be just terrible for them, and after Covid they really need the business. At least it will be getting a little colder over the next week, so maybe they can make enough new snow to recover in time for the week between Christmas and New Years.
I could do without the ice, but isn’t it nice to see some sun!
You can still be a pig without being obese; in my mind it’s an attitude, not a weight class.
ETA: and immediately after I wrote this I felt bad for equating our intelligent, sociable animal cousins (sorry @darrtown but I have a soft spot for them) with a SCOTUS-adjacent insurrection supporter.
From the article: “A coalition of Texas businesses have said ambiguity over abortion bans in the Lone Star State is making recruitment harder, . . . Texas’ confusing medical exceptions increase business costs, drive away talent, and threaten workforce diversity and wellbeing.”
At least Coulter [“The prolife movement has gone from compassion for the child to cruelty to the mother (and child).”] framed it properly. For business, it’s simply a cost / benefit analysis that is hurting the bottom line. And the reference to DEI is not going to gain any support in that environment.
No apology warranted – my bad to have missed it.
Seems a miss for their not to be a Leonard Lego meme. A little plastic character that gives out money to Nazis.
The meme generation slipped me by, as did video games. Win.
ETA: maybe he builds a little bright red Supreme Court.
In general I think in the future the very right of all Presidents to even hold the office they’re elected to will be challenged continually by the opposing party. First the veracity of the very election they’ve just won will be disputed, no matter the margin. And they better stock their cabinets with ultra-loyal sycophants, or the rabble rousers and malcontents within their own party will be clamoring for a 25th Amendment removal. And now this 14th Amendment option is forefront, and I’m sure everyone is taking notes on how this turns out, filing it all away for future reference and possible use, citing the flimsiest of reasons.
The days of just slogging through your 4 or 8 years, getting done what you could, and leaving office are over. Going forward your very right to even hold the office will be under continual assault and litigation.
to me, people who have never, ever faced any terrorrist, should jusr shut up about other people who have…ISRAEL is doing exactly what the USA did after 9-11…agree with it or not…when you are attacked, you do not lay down like a whipped dog; I don’t ‘support’ either group…
I learned a new word today. Thank you!
He boasted he would run into a burning building to save a child, yet when a peaceful BLM protest came to town, chickenshit Bunker Boy fled, surrounded by SS agents. Who could possibly believe this lying asshole?
It would not be unheard of for any given phrase to mean different things, either to different people, or depending on the context or over a period of time as definitions change or are refined. Unless someone finds explicit writings from a few founders that they explicitly intended to allow Presidents to hold office after participating in an insurrection, it is beyond preposterous that they intended that.
Damn these people have some imagination, don’t they?
SStephen (spelling intentional) Miller writes trumps speeches, I mean gobbledegook word salads, and he has read Mein Kaumf multiple times. Let’s make sure the term “plagiarist “ sticks to his slimy self.
For anyone who thinks Trump isn’t keeping score, she’s the one Stefanik filed a ridiculous complaint against accusing her of “political activity”.
