I recall a story from about 20 years ago. A neighbor who flew his American flag precisely as prescribed by The Code, (never at night without light, etc), mistakenly raised his flag upside down. Within about 20 minutes, a local police officer stopped by his house to check on his well-being, and told the neighbor he saw the flag upside down and wanted to investigate the neighbor’s “distress.”
I wish the police had investigated the Alito household to ensure they were OK.

trump is an immature undeveloped child who reacts thus: if it worked one time, I’ll try it again. It’s the only trick he’s got. He keeps pushing, like a toddler who wants to stay up past his bedtime, until he wears down his parents and gets what he wants.
Biden, a parent and grandparent, has seen this trick before. I believe he’ll hold steady and let trump rant and rave. There’s no changing trump’s personality at this point. His rants just get more demented and his cult swoons, so better to not even engage.

We should all be outraged and demanding the resignations of Alito and Thomas at the very least. They hide behind originalism but the damage done by the 6-3 majority is severe. They have rewritten both the first and 2nd amendments, taken away the right of bodily autonomy for women, and are on their way to strike down the Voting Rights Act. The federal judiciary is an election issue.

When all the trials are over and the Old Man croaks, I think there will still be some Trump Org real estate left in the family. Forbes’ current estimate of his net worth is $7.7 billion. It isn’t liquid, and a lot of it is leveraged with loans, but that’s still a lotta scratch. There will still be a golf course resort somewhere they can plant him.

If what you own (your assets) minus what you owe (your debts and liabilities) equals more than a million dollars, you’re a “millionare.” Assets include homes, properties, cash/bank accounts, financial accounts, life insurance, fixed retirement accounts/pensions, gold/jewelry/coins, furniture, vehicles, etc. You know what liabilities/debts are (I don’t need to list them.) Like I said, it’s pretty easy nowadays to be a millionaire, but it doesn’t mean as much as it used to. And it is definitely fluxuating throughout our lifetime. Most of us here are basically “thousandaires” with moments of poverty and wealth, IMO.
Like @jnbenson said, it means you don’t have to eat cat food in retirement. But I’d add a caveat “unless you want to, or it’s not too fancy.”

I think Barron’s features are quite Trumpian (eye brows, ears,etc.), he just has the benefit of more symmetry, and a stronger chin/jaw line, and of course, youth. The softening of Trump features probably comes from Melania’s contributions. I hope he is smarter than the other Trumps but I don’t think the odds there are very good. His eyes are a blank in that photo, but he’s 18 and probably not all that excited about standing next to daddy Buttstench. Jury is out on Barron, but odds of decency are low. We shall see. If we live that long.

Exactly. It’s all bloviating and posturing. He always resorts to stupid extremes to get his base excited and make headlines. Sadly, the MSM will repeat all his absurd demands and pretend there’s some merit to them, or that this is just part a normal negotiation.
Biden should counter with competing in a bike race or walking up and down a ramp, or even drinking water single-handedly. Or not. Better to let trump’s stupidity twist in the wind.

Up until two years ago retirement included 100+ miles a week on my bike. Not much now because roads are dangerous because cell phones.
