If he does, he falls into a trap because Biden framed it as a challenge. “C’mon tough guy, you said any time, any where, so let’s rumble.” Trump immediately accepted. Backing out makes him look weak.
He’s very sensitive to this kind of power dynamic, as if politics is like a WWE championship with all that posturing and strutting. He refused to debate in the GOP primaries because he wanted to be seen as the default candidate, the leader of the party. Debating the other, lesser candidates would have elevated them at his expense.
So I don’t see him backing out now. He needs to be seen dominating Biden on camera, in person. That won’t happen if Biden sticks to the mic cut-off rule, but he’ll try something anyway.

I just had a terrible realization. What kind of grave marker will Trump have? A simple slab with his name and dates? More likely a huge mausoleum. Maybe some donor will come through with a Grant’s tomb kinda thing. (No, Grant is not buried in Grant’s tomb. That is, he is not buried there.) John Kennedy has a simple marker, with his names and dates – and an “eternal flame.”
ETA: More likely a huge mausoleum but not one with unpainted white marble and classic Ionic columns and the like – too simple and dignified. Rather, rococo in style, with lots of gilt and solid gold ornaments.

Trump is nearly 78. He may have been 6’4” in his mid 30’s but with age, spinal discs compress and he has a head forward posture that together could easily take off 4” of height. He’s maybe 6’ tall. 6’1” on a good day. Not sure why he wears lifts other than he’s enjoyed a height domination feeling for most of his life snd he’s loath to give it up.
