Since a pension’s value would depend on how many years a person collected it, I assume there’s some standard formula for assessing its value, if only as an estimated range.

Perhaps if they elected BETTER state legislators who can cajole and compromise to get a little bit of what they want – but NO, they elect loudmouths whose sole position is “my way or the highway.”
Another thought. When Trump dies – esp. assuming it’s sooner rather than later (when, should he live for a decade or two more, dementia may have sent him into obscurity) – who will officiate at his “Christian” funeral and burial? I imagine a host of Evangelical pastors will vie for, and share in, the “honor.” Will Melania (if she’s still married to him) want a Catholic priest to be among the officiants? And what about that presidential library? Maybe that will finally get built somewhere, and Trump’s mausoleum or tomb will be located there.

I watched the extended video including Comer trying to decide to strike MTG’s remarks. If you just view the clips that the news puts on in general, it looks over and done, but it wasn’t. MTG kept putting in snippy remarks and would not just be done with it. Everything about her behavior says she has hit her limit and is moving into the combative and nasty drunk phase.
Comer doesn’t come off well either. Besides his noting his deafness, he looked absolutely befuddled in how to handle all of this.
It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that Melania’s pre-nup money is parked in some Cayman bank, so her stepsons can’t abscond with it.
There is a reaction some long-married men have of blaming their wives for anything they did about which they feel threatened or embarrassed. He is “good Clarence.” She is “bad Clarence.” Now, Ginny Thomas is clearly a malefactor to at least some degree. But it is quite possible that the are blaming their wives for what they did to escape consequences and continue criming.
That is one clip that will never get old. Both Jasmine Crockett and AOC give Spork Foot the what-for. And now we have a new Gooper mean girl – Luna, from (shock of shocks) Flori-DUH.

Rural areas are losing population throughout the country. I’m certain that the rural population of Idaho blames Boise and the rural population of Iowa blames Iowa’s cities.
So far, she’s been pretty canny about exploiting her piece of the pie. Putting up with VonShitzinPants for all those years, producing an anchor baby, she may feel she’s sacrificed enough to deserve it.

Rural areas of the US are emptying out. The greater challenge for American democracy is:

It’s so sad to see someone negotiate against himself…and lose. On another note, I don’t think Trump would be asking for all these debates -fake or not - if he were really confident and in a position of strength. He may not realize it, but his campaign team certainly does, that it’s a huge risk to put Trump out there. Especially under the conditions Biden has laid out and he has accepted. All of his strengths, as it were, have been negated.
