I haven’t been reading every comment since this new SC was announced, but it seemed folks were acting like Garland sicced a hard-right conservative on Biden, but it was tit-for-tat because he had sicced a Chump-hater on The Seditionist.
So, what I didn’t see anyone mention (might have missed it!)…wasn’t Jack Smith a Chump appointee as well? The person who has been screaming the loudest that Smith is a Chump Hater Supreme is Chump himself. As usual, we have a DOJ/FBI with lots of openly RW types and plenty who want to keep their RW leanings on the down-low. We Dems always seem to be hoping some RWer will prove they are a straight shooter, but they always seem to just miss doing the right thing. I wouldn’t buy Chump’s assertion that Smith is some kind of lefty.

I remember posting less than flattering comments about Garland awhile back and took some heat for it. My thoughts today have not changes. He’s a meek person and lacks the balls to break from the tradition this bit mentions. As long as that flyweight is around expect more of this.
Obama could have shit canned Comey whenever he wanted. Just think about that would have changed things. The Democrats, puff ball Garland for sure, need to look around a bit. JUST DO IT…as the GOP’ers do. Had Obama canned Comey he would have taken short term heat but achieved long term good. There would have been no Trump…think about that. The GOP’ers learned this long ago.

So is GOP extremism. Democrats follow rules and custom, Republicans currently do not.
But appointing a Special Council to look at the Biden document thing from Garland’s point of view is the right thing to do even though comparing The Biden case to trump’s would be comparing apples to the planet Venus. Yes both are round bit that’s it.

Hur was appointed because he is a Republican. Otherwise the NYT would run endless stories about Democratic weaponization of the DOJ. Haven’t you caught on that all of modern politics is driven by avoiding the wrath of the mainstream media who are owned and run by Republican operatives.

The sentencing comes three days after Justice Juan Merchan of the Manhattan criminal court ordered Allen Weisselberg, who worked for Trump’s family for a half-century and was the company’s former chief financial officer, to jail for five months after he testified as the prosecution’s star witness.
Trump’s company faces only a maximum $1.6 million penalty, but has said it plans to appeal. No one else was charged or faces jail time in the case.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office, which brought the case, is still conducting a criminal probe into Trump’s business practices.
Bill Black, a professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law specializing in white-collar crime, called the expected penalty a “rounding error” that offers “zero deterrence” to others, including Trump.
This is a farce,” he said. “No one will stop committing these kinds of crimes because of this sentence.
