The Republicans speak as if this is something noble, e.g. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Of course it is not. It’s a symptom of how sick this country has become and how every virtue will be sacrificed on that altar of the almighty dollar.
They will not succeed but it will be a horror show. I can’t watch anymore.
Robert Reich said that the big corporations (slush fund beneficiaries beyond pathetic-donald and coneys) could get loans at near zero cost right now to tide them over…the tax payers shouldn’t bail them out. !!!
The huge stock market run up – how much of that was falsely inflated due to stock buy backs? No wonder it took such a dive – seems like a bubble, and I doubt it will spring back.
Wish that the word could get out just what MoscowMitch is trying to do – before, as you say the house of cards tumbles. He must know that their party is just about over. (one can hope their partying is over anyway).

trump would give you more cred if you had played a lawyer on TV. i probably have watched almost every episode of Perry Mason and i can affirm the reasoning is garbage.
Policy wise it was ever thus. In terms of economic power, they have ALWAYS defended or expanded power for those who already had it. This is no different except that (with Trump) they have gotten much more stupid about how they say it. The only real difference is things have ‘evolved’ to the point that republicanism/unbridled capitalism/Trumpism feels comfortable saying the quiet parts out loud.
Isn’t Santelli the one who tried to blame the 2008 debacle on people defaulting on mortgages, i.e. the “undeserving poor”? I could be wrong. Asshole either way.
It’s the word ‘natural’. COVID-19 is natural. Just like starving while bla… is natural. Losing tax breaks for capital gains and then starving - not natural.
As a resident of neither (west Texas), I would like to suggest that Houston would be more than happy to ship Dan Patrick (née Goeb) back to his native Maryland.
