Texas Guv Privately Admitted Reopening Economy Will Lead To More COVID Cases

Don’t confuse stupidity with evil. They have fully wrapped their heads around the possibility of profit taking from the treasury at every opportunity.

I wonder how much the homeowners insurance is covering of the settlement versus the tree service company’s insurance. He’s lucky the homeowner had insurance and the tree service company inspected it right before it fell over.

If Abbott lives through 2022, when he will turn 65, he will have received another $3.5 million. That would push the total value of his settlement past $9 million, or about $11 million using inflation-adjusted dollars.

He knows. He knows lots of stuff, just ask him.

How so? Did you think the Corona-Virus Faerie was going to bring all the Good O’le Boys and Girls Empathy?

Their own selfishness, actually. Figured this would trigger their selfishness and wish for self-preservation.

Didn’t expect them to volunteer to die.

See LBJ’s race for the US Senate and Duval county Texas but yes your point is well taken.

Very reminiscent of old Krautie.

The data is clear about WHO this is most likely to kill and there is only one conclusion to be drawn: they WANT those people to die.

All this just-in-time trading saved them having to have stock on hand, or rely on economies of scale. Existentialist economics - downside of globalization.

How they got the poor to blame globalization on the Jews I do not know - is it just habit?

That is actually a classic understatement.

I was never familiar with the terms of the settlement. My understanding at the time was that it was some kind of structured settlement that was more than sufficient to have paid off his medical and rehab expenses and afford him a very comfortable financial life independent of his relatively stingy state salary. But he wasn’t living like he had won the lottery.

Can’t imagine what that ambition might be. He’s hit his ceiling for public office.
Given that? WTF is his motivation? Maintaining statewide grip on down ballot offices is the only reasoning I can fathom. With Texas tilting purple, the state lege has been moving toward an antagonistic position toward Texas’ large metro city governments and officials/executives.

Abbott is a smaller, less-adept version of Tom ‘Bugman’ Delay. And-- just as evil it seems.

See what happens next time you ask me for a favor. I’m half-serious in that our federal government is abandoning us to die. That’s a pretty horrible thing to contemplate.

Abbot is following Trump’s lead in hoping that opening the State will lead to victory at the polls in November.

The Texas R’s are afraid purple may go blue over the next 6 months.

Abbot is just one more “I got mine, fuck the rest of you” Republican.

I know it’s been known to happen, on occasion. That doesn’t make it a reliable strategy.
