Several Well-Known Hate Groups Identified At Capitol Riot | Talking Points Memo

John Judis is galactically moronic.

That is the nicest thing I can say about him.
Reading the pap he spews will lower you IQ several points per paragraph.

Right on! That is the worst piece I have ever read on TPM. The Dems looking forward BS has brought us Trump. The Dems have to impeach because it is not only the right thing to do, it is Constitutional. There will be a lot more information coming out, imo, about Trump and GOP conspiracy for the coup–why did Trump fire people and insert toadies last month in the exact same organizations that were supposed to be involved in protecting Congress? Lastly, this puts the GOP in a bind. They have to vote on record for Domestic Terrorism, supporting the coup and Trump or for Democracy and America. This is one of the few times in my life that the Dems are in a win-win situation and we should just look away on another GOP crime? John Judis, you should be ashamed.

Gotta confess that I read it under the assumption that Josh Marshall wrote it and wondered what kind of downers he was on. If I’d realized it was Judis, I’d’ve skipped it…

It’s not only abuses by law enforcement. Loopholes that encryption engineers build into their devices and software can be exploited by others as well.

It’s a stupid game to prevent the President from making recess appointments. And it’s not new.

ETA I see others have pointed this out.

Looks to me like they can’t function without playing ā€˜dress up’ like teen-age girls calling each other to make sure that they match. Sad little whinies.

Moscow Mitch says ā€˜nyet’. Excuse is that he couldn’t possibly schedule a trial before january 19th, never mind that he’s got a crazed with fear preznit sending lynch mobs to the capitol.

Especially the part about being shot down in the WH no fly zone; and that goes for your drone too.

As much as I hate cops, there is no way the Capitol Police are to blame here. Have you seen the videos? There were a MASS of people, and they were all charging.

The real question is, why no response like earlier with BLM? Where was the Guard? Why no active duty units? 82nd airborne hanging around would have looked much better to history.

This explains why Alabama has such a hard time casting off its reputation as a boil in the armpit of the American South. It is full of cranks, hicks, weirdos, racists and just plain fuckwads who get elected to public office, and head sports teams, and run large corporations, and preach from Sunday pulpits, and govern towns and cities, and preside over school boards and faculties, and control neighborhood associations ev-er-y-where. They dress up nice, they spit their tobacco into small dixie cups, they nod to passing coloreds, but the blood of anti-somethingism runs cold in their veins. Can’t trust 'em. Never could. Never will be able to.

Someone made the decision to have as minimal staffing on hand as there was, multiple others would have been aware that that level and the failure to request stand-by mutual aid in advance was in violation of protocols, etc.

Front-line folks doing their job? No blame at all. But the back-end needs some serious house-cleaning.

Mayor Muriel Bowser has been subtly and consistently making that point in virtually every interview since this happened. The Capitol Police’s ā€œlet’s see what happensā€ stance was a very strange mode of advance planning.

Apparently help was offered according to the WaPo and it was turned down. Houston Police Chief remarking that ā€œYou never turn down the offer of helpā€

Oh, I have no doubt that things were very deliberately set up to create an arena where bad things could happen.

The zip-tie boys and some others of interest didn’t haul all that gear across the country because they thought they were going to be standing around with friends waving flags.

Maybe it’s just me, but I fail to understand why anyone would have secrets they want to hide on a phone conversation or on a forum posting.

I have never had my identity or bank account compromised. Anyone want to know what my sexual fantasies are like? Go right ahead, means nothing to me. (Although I also won’t proffer the information, either. :innocent: )
