All of those terrorist groups are merely subdivisions of the much larger domestic terrorist group - republicans.

Democrats: Impeachment is a Political Trap | Talking Points Memo

If Trump somehow should not be impeached for incitement of insurrection, if for no other reason at all, than to bar him from even attempting a comeback in '24 (Remember THOSE margins, TPM?) then there is no law. There is no law and, because there is no law, or even the pretense of law…the next storming of the Capitol will succeed.

This thing reads like something I would find at Salon.

And that is in no way a compliment.

I have read that these groups are going to engage in another rally (for lack of a better term) on the 17th and then again on the 20th. The latter date is Inauguration Day of course, but what is the significance of the 17th?

Sorry for the long post. I hope this isn’t true:

“Folks, I really hate to say it–and those words are grossly inadequate to my emotions–but America is at war.
https://www.cnn.com/.../online-extremism.../index.html
1/6 was Fort Sumter in our time. I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this, but the cynical opportunism of GOP leadership and right wing media; the ongoing American epistemological crisis which prevents us as a nation from discerning truth from mythology and rationalization; the backlash of disgruntled white male supremacists; and most visibly the toxic narcissism of the outgoing so-called president; all these have now lit the fuse of civil conflict.
We don’t any longer have a choice. We must defend ourselves and our nation by force against the insurrection. They have told us, over and over again, that this was their aim. Now they’ve followed through. QAnon, the Proud Boys, and the rest have declared their intentions, and they have acted on them. It’s time we took them seriously, and acted accordingly.
The good news is that they are deluded about ‘representing America.’ The people are overwhelmingly opposed to any putsch. And we still have considerable institutional resilience, as we have seen in numerous rebukes of Trumpist excess. What we most need to do is be clear-eyed about the threat we face.
Enforce the laws. Aggressively police and arrest seditionists, wherever they are. Use our counterintelligence capabilities, not against ‘antifa’ boogeymen, but against those whose avowed and demonstrated intention is to install a disastrously incompetent and malignant failure already soundly rejected by the electorate. And come together as Americans to embrace the best, not the worst, of our historic heritage.
Neutralize the threat. Then, and only then, will begin the “time for healing.”
#AccountabilityNow”

It doesn’t say if Twitter is working with law enforcement, but I would hope they are.

A link in the story leading to a Washington Post story mentions that some of the groups are using Signal because of its encryption.

For the record, I am against iron-clad encryption on public forums. You post something in public that’s a crime, or is planning for a crime, then law enforcement needs to have that as evidence.

Q is the 17th letter of the alphabet, and that is not some hoaxy B.S. This is being widely circulated amongst QAnoners.

I fully realize that there is no point in bringing up the past. But I cannot help wonder if those who voted for Trump in 2016 (and those who did again in 2020) and those who sat out because, to them Hillary was only may be slightly ‘lesser of the two evils’ unlike their perfect human Sanders, do even care what their votes have created. Hope they are proud of themselves! If Trump had not been elected in teh first place in 2016, I am almost sure we won’t be in this situation. Despite Trump not being President after Jan 19th, I am still very concerned about these violent thugs continuing to harm the people of this nation.

Yes, thank you! I could feel the hand-wringing in the prose. Screw that! There must be some response to this if the current occupant does not resign or is not 25th’d. “Oh dear, they might be upset with us if we do that” ? They’ve already killed people in a coup attempt. These people need to be legally, morally, and ethically stomped on to prevent them from trying this in the states, or another Oklahoma City episode.

Thank you. I knew there had to be some significance.

On top of everything else, it smacks of the same, “Democrats can’t walk and chew gum at the same time,” that I’ve been hearing for years.

So…they dressed like Antifa to fool people into blaming Antifa for their crimes, but wore American flags so people would know they’re NOT Antifa and they discussed this online beforehand and confirmed this to a journalist while posing for a picture like they’re the Untouchables. Yep, sounds about right.

Why does it always seem like the people pushing White Supremacy have nothing else going for them in their lives besides their race and nationality? It’s almost as if they’re all losers being tricked by billionaires into blaming liberals and brown people every time Capitalism screws them over. Who knew?
