If only Jayapal tested positive, then her own actions might be to blame. However, with two (and soon likely more) Reps testing positive in the same timeframe, Jayapal is not likely the source. Also, the members of Congress wouldn’t have had to shelter in a small space had Trump’s enablers in Congress not spread his lies.
Its not partisan blindness to clearly state the fault of this superspreader event lays at the fault of Trump and his GOP enabler’s in Congress.

Mine as well. I assume it is well within the purview of the Speaker to pass and enforce a rule requiring masks, but it’s beyond disappointing that grown people have to be forced to do the right thing. Best wishes to Representative Jayapal.

It should be reasonably easy to find out which representatives were infected during that period, and were capable of transmitting the virus during the period they were all holed up together. At least, narrow down the potential list. And then carve a big orange “C” (for COVID) on their foreheads, if the testing is conclusive. Of course, charge them as well. A mask order is an order. A month or two of picking up trash on the highways in a highly visible and dangerously travelled area would be nice, too. In August heat and September hurricane season.

She was in the gallery at that point, not in a small room filled with people. Had she been offered a mask in either room, I’ve no doubt that she would not have declined it to make a specious political point.
