know this is a bit conflicted, but while I applaud his no longer being able to donate to some bad actors, with few exceptions I prefer not to speak poorly of the deceased. Adelson supported a lot of really vile people in order to increase the mammon he worshipped. If there is a final judgment, then he’s going to have a real problem shoving a camel through the eye of a needle.

An admirable, noble sentiment, but one in this case, I can’t subscribe to. Forget final judgement, Adelson was EVIL in this life. He funded, aided, and abetted Trump, and was an accomplice to the 350,000 Covid deaths, the Trump Insurrection, and a host of other GOP sins.

Good riddance, IMHO.

Pelosi and House leadership have somewhat wide latitude to impose internal sanctions against Reps for various offenses. Sanctions that can be done without any sort of due process, measures at her direction merely because she personally feels they’re warranted. I hope some are forthcoming.

here’s the video. She doesn’t have a mask on because they were told to take off their masks and put the gas masks on, she is holding the gas mask in her hand in this video clip. You are right that she doesn’t have it on yet but it was likely only for a few minutes or less. I still think being in a crowded, much smaller room for four hours would be more of a danger than this was.

Being an empiricist, I’ll just note that (a) the DAG who raised that possibility in March is now AG; and that (b) after nearly a year the number of such prosecutions stands at approximately zero.

As an older American I have a specific dislike for Republicans who refuse to wear masks. Mask wearing shouldn’t be political.

That said this story will really get real if one of the maskless congress critters announces he or she has Covid.

The crowd that invaded the Capitol are now spreading covid in their home communities I expect. It’s way more than just members of the House and Senate who got infected during this craziness. How many thousands of people traipsed thru the Capitol that day? Has the building been deep cleaned? The communities these rioting idiots call “home” are gonna see spikes of covid cases. I hope they’re ready.

I heard Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio describe his shelter-in-place experience in an undisclosed location in the Hart Senate Office Building. I wondered why he mentioned the location of his undisclosed location, and I wonder now if in some way he is subtly suggesting that his location was not all that hard for a Trump maurader to find and that he didn’t feel adequately protected during the siege.

I don’t know the Capitol though, so I’m just speculating.

People have occasionally been charged and convicted of crimes like assault and even attempted murder for knowingly exposing others to HIV, but those are very rare and pretty controversial. Barring a conspiracy on the level of “Let’s get Marjorie Taylor Greene infected and have her cough on Nancy Pelosi and AOC!” I can’t see any criminal liability, much less terror-related charges.

ETA: I should add that criminal charges would be extremely difficult with COVID, given that it’s an out-of-control epidemic that would make proof of causation (i.e., source of infection) beyond a reasonable doubt almost impossible.
