Second Rep. Announces Positive COVID Test Since Sheltering With Mask-Free GOPers During Insurrection

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) announced on Monday night that she, like 75-year-old Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), had tested positive for COVID-19 after lawmakers were forced to take shelter with several mask-less Republicans during the pro-Trump insurrection at the Capitol last Wednesday.

The Democrat demanded ā€œserious finesā€ against lawmakers who refuse to wear masks, along with their removal from the floor by the Sergeant at Arms.

Fuck that. Expel their asses from Congress.

OT, but not all news is badā€¦

I guess refusing to wear masks is an example of what we can expect of the ā€œheal the divisions in the nationā€ project.

Just another reason to add the growing list of why not to work with this fucks in the name ā€œnational unity.ā€

If they donā€™t care about protecting the health of their fellow Americans/representatives then they donā€™t give a fuck about unity. May they join Sheldon Adelson.

Reckless endangerment. Time to throw the GOP miscreants out of Congress. Horrible, horrible people!

Republicans are super-spreaders.
They carry the plague and donā€™t give a damn about giving it to you.

Wow, while GOP donors bail out, Adelson took it to the next level. Well played, Sheldon!

Markwayne Mullin should be expelled merely for having such a ridiculous name and being from Oklahoma. Did he at least cut his mullet before being sworn in? Seriously, anyone not wearing a mask should not be allowed on the floor, in committees or to vote, and should be subject to large fines and criminal prosecution. QEnough with these MAGAsshole imbeciles!

Counterpoint:

Pramila Jayapal was photographed in the House speactators gallery during the riot. She was not wearing a mask, the people around her were mostly unmasked, and they were not observing social distancing.

Marjory Taylor Greene is still a piece of shit.

It stands to reason that these huddled maskless cynics also infected those closest to them. Hope springs eternal, donā€™tcha know.

I know this is a bit conflicted, but while I applaud his no longer being able to donate to some bad actors, with few exceptions I prefer not to speak poorly of the deceased. Adelson supported a lot of really vile people in order to increase the mammon he worshipped. If there is a final judgment, then heā€™s going to have a real problem shoving a camel through the eye of a needle.

To a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
To a lawyer, everything looks like an argument.

To a blind partisan, everything looks like itā€™s the other sideā€™s fault. Maybe it is this time! Or maybe COVID precautions were pretty lax on Jayapalā€™s part too. No, not maybe. Definitely.

(Thereā€™a a much better one than that, but I canā€™t find it in 30 seconds of googling.)

Well you know bro it was just a typical day at the shop and those folks were under no stress whatsoever./s

I recall over the past many years people with infectious diseases (HIV, for one) spitting on cops and being charged with assault. Iā€™m very curious as to why someone hasnā€™t initiated a suit against a maskless person in an attempt to test that line of consequences for such behavior.

As much as I canā€™t stand MTG and her cohorts, I doubt they were the specific sources of the infection. You have to remember that the Capitol, even the floor, was mobbed with non-mask-wearing thugs. My main problem with them reconvening that day was that it could not have been properly decontaminated.

As for MTG, the rest of the Georgia delegation, and others, they were probably not wearing masks, so that theyā€™d be easily identifiable. If it really came down to it, members could have hidden from the insurrectionists by removing their masks instead of taking off their congressional pins,

Oh, youā€™re suggesting that they were all wearing masks and sitting well apart before the riot, and responded to the stress by ripping their masks off and congregating? Please.
