Romney Warns Of ‘Severe’ Consequences Of Lame Duck Trump Lashing Out | Talking Points Memo

The day he voted for Amy Covid Barrett is the day I quit giving a shit about anything Mitt has to say.

They should be afraid for their own hides. Going down the Rabbit Hole with Trump hurts the entire Planet.

I believe a good case can be made that Mitch HAS committed treason against this country, the Constitution and his oath of office. Biden needs to put Kamala in charge of that investigation. She would have Mitch so addled (more than he already is) he won’t be able to do as much obstruction as he has planned. She is smarter than Mitch by exponential factors.

It doesn’t matter. The president of the United States committed treason and it didn’t matter. I realize the Democrats are loathe to bend the rules and not commit retribution, but when there are no rules or decorum or consequences anymore, I fear we might be lost. Biden will start being blamed for all of this on January 21st. And they’ll cry socialist forever.

We really don’t stand a chance against 24/7 hate propaganda. We did before the internet - but no longer. Sorry, not feeling optimistic today.

The only thing I want to hear from Romney (or any Republican) is what they are doing to stop Trump’s sabotage. Otherwise, they are complicit.

Ellis: You don’t understand the legal process!

Mitt would get farther if he just called Trump an “arsonist”.

Can anyone quantify the political price McConnell is being made to pay for these shenanigans?

Nor am I, but that’s their plan: wear us all down. I won’t allow them to do that.

Funny you should mention that. I’ve been reading references to it in the comments but I haven’t been able to find any coverage on it…not on WaPo, NYT, CNN,…

Is the Great Ignoring beginning?

When Kasich and Romney and the Lincoln Project ilk demonstrate their protest through literal self immolation, I’ll be interested in what they have to say. Otherwise, it’s just the same hatred and violence in the end, just with a smile.

Even the NYT won’t bothsides this.

Fox ran it. Their legal analyst picked it apart.

Thanks!!

Admittedly, my experience is limited to growing up in SE Michigan, so it may not be representative of the whole, but while it technically resides in the “Mid-West” (based on 1830s-era expansion of the US), it doesn’t really seem like it fits into that category in general. It’s farther east than most of the more prototypical Midwestern states like Minnesota, Iowa or Missouri.

Of course it’s far enough west that it doesn’t fit into the North East either, so in my mind it doesn’t really have an official categorization. That narrow corridor of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois seem distinctly different from the rest of the “Mid-West” in my mind. I don’t know if it’s embraced in other Midwestern states, but I certainly never grew up around the term “Midwestern nice” and I don’t think of the state in terms where it would be applicable.
