Right-Wing Internet Cesspools Suspect A Trick

While the debate performance was certainly discouraging, I loathe the way that presidential elections are covered in this country. You aren’t voting (or should be IMO) for the most dynamic guy on the stage as that’s not the job requirements. To be an effective president (or leader of any large organization) you need a few basic skills

  • A bullshit detector. It’s critical to be able to evaluate what people are telling you are separate the wheat from the chaff.
  • The ability to evaluate staff and hire the good ones. At the end of the day your staff is doing all the actual work and it’s important to have a capable team around you.
  • A general sense of strategy and direction that you are trying to move the team and the rest of the country towards.

Given those three you can be a fine president. Biden has all that and Trump is beyond abysmal. Eg, Trump’s ability to evaluate potential staff starts and ends with a “do they kiss up to me enough” and variations. It’s one reason he is such a terrible business person as everyone dealing with him has figured this out decades ago and takes advantage of him.

The Dems also are horrible voters. The Reps vote for their guy even if he is a rapey felonious fraudulent moron because they know what they will get with any of their buys in the WH - tax breaks, religious nonsense (eg oppression of women), racism, guns and similar. The Dems still want a pony. Drives me nuts.

BREAKING: CNN just released their fact check of Donald Trump throughout the debate. It turns out Donald Trump lied on just about every answer.

They should have and could have done that before the night was over. It’s not like it took two days. Most of us here knew it was bullshit the moment it left Trump’s pucker.

I have read elsewhere that Kamala is very popular with young people. They line up in huge lines on campus to hear her speak. I also think she is clearly communicating the Biden administration’s position on abortion and women’s healthcare to young people and women most affected by the Republican hate campaign. It will be interesting to see if she can bring a lot of youth and women to the voting booths.

Too bad young people don’t vote.

And that’s all the down the ballot to the most local offices. Don’t just vote for Joe. If there are other positions on the ballot (and the House is on the ballot in its entirety), make sure all the positions are marked for the D candidate wherever you may be.

The cherry on the top of their overturn of Chevron is Gorsuch’s referring to nitrogen oxides (the pollutant that causes smog) as nitrous oxide (laughing gas) no fewer than 5 times in his majority opinion, proving conclusively that the courts should be making these decisions and not the so-called subject matter experts /s

So the other talking-heads of the Nyt Parrot Board released the “Joe Must Go” caco-phony for outrage and clicks… anyone with the stomach to read through thei r comments read the chorus of sing-alongs.

The board knew stepping aside wasn’t realistic. There isn’t a magic candidate waiting in the wings or a flyover from MIGHTY MOUSE to save the day… just B. S. fantasy from experienced writers who know they know better.

G-d help her, please don’t use the same debate team that Joe used. Please!

That was my strategy the first time I voted and it has never wavered.

That’s all on CNN and they will deny any responsibility for any of it. It’s how they roll.

All of these terms are terms of violence. Haven’t we had enough violence?

I agree with whoever on here lamented that the Presidential debates haven’t been good and informative since the League of Women Voters got pushed aside.

Thursday night was very bad. There’s no denying it. It’s left Democrats shocked, and questioning how this could have happened.

Just … Stop … This … NOW!

It’s left “The Mainstream Media” shocked …

And questioning how this could have happened?!

This is honestly embarrassing for all these media folks. The idea that you would be so reactionary as to freak out like this in ONE DAY after a single debate performance is just pathetic.

Like, these are people who are in the know. If they really thought Biden was a doddering old fool who can’t lead the country, presumably they knew it and thought it before Thursday. And if they don’t think that, this is cravenness of the highest order.

Seriously, “F” these pathetic losers - lets go win!

It is a fading memory, but weren’t CNN supposed to do a live fact check until a last minute change cancelled that? It is murky to me why that happened. What do we know?

I heard the point that it would be too hard to do it live, but most of what came out of Trump were his greatest hits and could be spotted immediately. For that matter, CNN could have made it known that they would only chime in if it was the TRUTH, thus they would only interrupt when Biden spoke. If Trump is speaking he is lying.

Even when abortion/reproductive rights are on the ballot?

Yeah, that “fact” isn’t going to stand this year. Recent off year elections have shown a huge increase in under 30 turnout. @theghostofeustacetilley

Quelle surprise, said no one. Even those who didn’t watch.
