Right-Wing Internet Cesspools Suspect A Trick

I’d say it’s Monday-morning quarterbacking, but it was pretty clear they needed a plan to handle Trump and it was as if they had none. Knowing there would be no fact-check, why not “My opponent has just told another whopper. Go to TrumpWhoppers.com and see the truth. [Behind the scenes dozens of spy campaign staffers throw up fact-based takedowns.] Because my time is limited, I’m gonna tell you what I’ll do…” Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

That the Biden team didn’t prepare for this is unfathomable to me.

What people believe and what actually happens are rarely related to each other. I don’t do beliefs because it’s mostly fantasy.

We’re going to WIN! That’s the end of it.

But somebody’s gotta do it!

Personally, I am pissed at the NYTimes. Their editorial re: Biden was disgraceful when to Biden’s right stood a convicted felon that lied continually. WTF?

If Democrats stick together and focus we’re gonna win. Everything is on our side, including the Constitution of the United States.

Here’s the thing, we have to adopt the right attitude and understand our mission. We have no other choice but to win. Any other outcome will be death. We’re not doing that because we CAN’T do that. If we surrender, it’s OVER! We lose everything and that is simply unacceptable.

Our troops walked directly into enemy fire at Normandy. They had to. We have to. It’s the American way. There is no other.

We will win.

I wasn’t saying that to be argumentative or persuasive or crass. And I’m not about to diagnose anyone via a television screen.

I haven’t said a word on this since the debate because it wrecked me so much watching it.

I have followed your observations on TPM for a long time, and you mine. I think it’s unfortunate you reduced something that is actually pretty painful for me to being a load of crap. But it is how I see the current situation.

I will still devote myself to the reelection of Biden in the ways I can. And I’ll be overjoyed to be proven wrong. I hope that I am.

Have a good day.

I hope you are right. Because I’ve never wanted so much to be wrong.

Yes. And call Trump a liar and a convicted felon more often and more forcefully. He did it, just not nearly enough of it.

I suspect that CNN did the debate without checking Trump’s lies, and then the Times piled onto Biden because they are cowards frightened for their future under a tyrant, and hoping to avoid his wrath. The Times also went after Biden out of spite for snubbing them, and because Trump coverage is ratings gold. They want Trump back, and want to be in his good graces. He will eat their faces instead.

Did they say Trump should step down? After all, he is a convicted felon, and a liar, and a traitor, etc.

Now that you mention it, I wish someone would punch Trump right in the nose, but I certainly wasn’t rooting for any violence in a presidential debate. It was simply a metaphor.

And I do feel empathy for the question about haven’t we had enough violence, because we have, but I am afraid a big slice of America would answer NO to that question.

The ones lining up on college campuses to hear a candidate do.

Of course not! That would be an act of blatant partisanship! Their influence is much too valuable and important to squander like that! Besides, it would be bad for Biden.

I posted this yesterday Yes, they were supposed to do a live fact check. Daniel Dale, the guy who spent 4 years+ fact checking TFG.

Trump supporters are outraged that Thursday’s presidential debate will be fact-checked. On Wednesday, CNN senior reporter Daniel Dale posted that he’d be live fact-checking the debate,

Catastrophizing is a way to brace yourself for your worst fears coming true. It is Pre-acceptance of a harsh reality which has not yet happened, and a trick the mind plays to help manage expectations. It is meant to avoid “hopium” withdrawal. And on some level it is deliberate.

Actually, Biden did respond to a lot of Trump’s crap, but all Trump did was lie, so I think Biden was trying to get in some points he thought were important. The truth is if CNN had fact checked Trump and if Biden had responded to all of Trump’s nonsense, the entire debate would have been about Trump. He just sucks all the air out of a room.

Yes. Different constituencies connect to different messages. For example, the pundit class didn’t notice the insult in the phrase “black jobs” but black elected officials did and they are making sure their consituents know about it

I think that’s a good message … truly.

It didn’t help that I’m back in my deep red hometown this week visiting my mom who is now far, far beyond the “sometimes gets confused” stage.

Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything at all, but this is the one forum where I hope that I can. The debate was a gut punch to me, erasing the sense I have carried for a while now that Biden will prevail. I can’t fully fathom how someone who doesn’t pay attention like we all do would perceive it, but I can’t imagine it’s good.

Here’s to more of the same as that message for the next four and a half months.
