We saw the violence of Jan. 6th as it happened. Assorted media and private sources, including members of the mob, filmed it and put it online.
More than 1000 people have been charged with crimes, all of them hardcore MAGA fanatics. They didn’t need FBI or antifa agents provocateur to nudge them into doing what they did. Trump and Giuliani and Eastman did that earlier, and we watched that too. The mob bragged about it online afterwards, wished they’d been more violent, and some of them discussed their plans beforehand on social media or in private chat groups.
Nothing is hidden here. It’s all right out in the open.
So all the social media buildup, the skulking around in an executive suite at the hotel by Stone, etc,… wait, I got it - NO it was the president’s speech to the massed Antifa, liberal FBI agents in the crowd that turned them from tofu-eaters to mighty warriors that wanted to overturn the results of the election and then the Senators cowering in the chambers decided that 2 days later it was a tourist group of Antifa and liberal FBI agents.
to say nothing of the trump lovers that posted their participation openly on facebook and bragged on twitter - to the complete non-surprise of family and co-workers who had been listening to them for 5 yrs - not a deep stater among them
In other words, Greene’s operating hypotheses is that Trump followers are easily fooled dupes who can be coerced into committing crimes by people who then stand back and watch those crimes unfold.
One might suppose Rep. Greene would be demanding an investigation of Antifa. You know, find out who organized and led the operation, where their command center was located for the operation, who paid for their transportation to D.C., where they stayed in D. C., what individuals should be prosecuted for their participation. That sort of thing.
More smearing of democrats and any rogue republican who told the truth in counterpoint to republican lies. This is nothing more than using their office for political witch hunts and smear jobs along with some obstruction of justice on behalf of their criminal leader.
I’m hoping his Smartest-Guy-In-The-Room™ smugness implodes spectacularly when his newfound fame leads to some intrepid reporter putting a skeleton key into just the right door and exposing to the world that he’s a colossal fraud he is in real life.
Consider that TFG likely wouldn’t have undergone the scrutiny that may well see him spending the rest of his miserable life in prison had he not been selected pResident.
Fame has its price. And if there’s any justice* in the universe, they will both suffer Enron-level destruction.
Johnson says he wants to “provide millions of Americans, criminal defendants, public interest organizations and the media an ability to see for themselves what happened that day, rather than having to rely upon the interpretation of a small group of government officials.”
A “small group of government officials.” According to NPR, some 700 J6 defendants have pleaded guilty. There have been around 160 jury trials, only 3 of which produced acquittals on all counts. Juries found defendants guilty of all charges in around 120 trials.
160 jury trials, with judges, clerks, bailiffs, lawyers for the prosecution and defense, and well over 1000 jurors, not to mention all those involved in the much higher number of guilty pleas, is not by any stretch of the imagination “a small group of government officials.” Johnson is trying to wave away this enormous and deeply damning verdict of the justice system and of masses of ordinary Americans, pretend it’s insignificant, as if it never happened. He’s a familiar type, smiling, presenting as “meek,” as “religious,” his mouth dripping poison, his mind a sewer.
