Absolutely. Meghan is a total golddigger who got in way the fuck over her head, and running to her BFF and neighbor for an interview (without disclosing that upfront, that it was totally friendly turf) to whine about how mistreated she was because the Queen didn’t automatically give her a princess title…
Why is it that we have not heard two words from Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand on this matter? It seems to fall in a category that she has long taken the lead on, yet she is silent.
Tis a puzzlement.
I’ve got a great little book by Arthur Plotnik called “The Elements of Editing” and in one part he lists what you should do depending on how much time you have, and for the minimal amount he lists the obvious things and ends with this: “Check any statements that seem absurd or actionable.” Just always struck me as a mathematically elegant absolute minimum.
Gee castor_troy: tell us what you really think! I’m sure that being told that your new in-laws were worried your unborn child might be too dark skinned wouldn’t bother you…
Oh c’mon. Andrew Cuomo has worked in government for DECADES. ‘Birthright’ my ass. He worked, he was elected. Period. He may have a famous name, he may be an ahole, he may be a harasser. But he WORKED for it.
My wife was glued to this last night. I, on the other hand, need to go to the optometrist to see if there’s any long-term damage from how hard I rolled my eyes.
It is funny that the same people worried about a “dark-skinned baby” didn’t seem to mind that Harry looks nothing like his daddy.
I half paid attention, just for the rubber-necking in case she actually managed to take down the Firm.
She came up massively short, with vague complaints that she couldn’t or wouldn’t really make concrete and factual, and mostly sounded just pissed off that they didn’t just acquiesce to her demands, but rather let them leave and go on their own, stripping away the free money and castles.
Meanwhile, don’t remind Andrew Cuomo but it’s International Women’s Day today:
President Biden will sign an executive order on Monday establishing the Gender Policy Council within the White House to focus on uplifting the rights of women and address gender-based discrimination and violence.
I work for the State of New York, far from NYC or Albany, at a regional University. Many who are involved in NYS politics in some way or another do not like Cuomo much, including lots of Democrats and/or progressives. His support has always been grudging. When the nursing home and harassment allegations were reported, many of us were not unhappy. We all know he has long been a bully. We also know he has starved the state University institutions of funds for a decade. They have been severely harmed. So there is much schadenfreude on my part, and I suspect many others. I will be happy to see him gone.
What about the next NY Governor? To make this into an Impeachment affair…that has “implication” written all over it…and makes the next case(s) that much more messy.
