Um they did punish Newman’s campaign. Did you read the article?
And lol at pretending the whole Bloomberg debacle never happened.

NP, once I got over my paranoia. I usually TPM, but not during primary season
Lol are people really suggesting Bernie originated the weaponization of ‘establishment’? Lmao at this place sometimes.
Honestly, I don’t know.
There’s only so much incoherence I can deal with at any given time. Even trying to cope with my own is a challenge.
There’s more to be gained by him staying in than just simply winning. Besides which, you might think I’m addled and that all those other Bernie voters are addled, but I’m puzzled as to why you would gleefully alienate members of a group who have to come together after the primary season to help elect your favorite (Biden). It seems to me that you would not help burn that bridge. If it were my team winning I certainly wouldn’t alienate you. I’d welcome you back into the fold with welcome arms because we need every one we can get to help defeat our common enemy, Trump and the GOP. Don’t lose track of the real bad guy.
To get things done on other issues? Just spitballing here, but that seems like a plausible explanation.
I’m with you on this one, mostly. But the caucus also has a serious interest in gaining and maintaining a majority, and that task is made harder if we institute purity tests on the members of that caucus. They’re not wrong to support their own. What 100% needs to end, though, is anything that prevents other candidates from challenging those incumbents. The DCCC’s blacklist is bullshit.
And I say that as someone who is very, very happy that Lipiniski it out, AOC is in, and Henry Cuellar needs to go.
Despite my personal distaste for some of the more strident behavior on the Left (Bernie Bro, lookin’ at you), one has to acknowledge that the Democrats are moving left – and must move left, given how the Right has trashed this country over the last 40 years. Dumping a Triassic dinosaur like Lipinski who still thinks it’s the Dan Rostenkowski era is one sign that Biden should take note of in terms of issue emphasis.
Best of luck to the Democratic nominee in that district.
Sanders Sister, if you don’t mind.
Thus spake a Bernie Sanders dead-ender. Self-awareness is not your strong suit.
Not my favorite at all. That would be Liz Warren. But reality beckons. Can you hear it?
Don’t answer that, it’s just a rhetorical question.
Also, when you have to vote for Jill Stein this November, I acknowledge it will be my fault. I definitely should have coddled a dead-ender advocating for continuing a campaign that serves no purpose other than to harm the presumptive nominee’s chances in the general election.
ETA:
You wouldn’t need to welcome me because I’d fucking well be there. That’s the goddamn point. Throttle your dead-enderism and get on board.
I don’t think I’m wrong. Your favorite WAS Warren, but she dropped out and now you favor Biden over Bernie. I wont insult you. We differ. It;s okay to think differently. It’s encouraged in a democracy, in fact. However I differ from you, I wish you well, @txlawyer.
EDIT: I would be there also. I will be there. I was there in 2016 with Hillary. We’re not a monolithic group, believe it or not.
not likely…Lipinski’s got nothing to offer any uni…“hire me, I’m a loser with a Ph.D”
Oh, so you’re only going to advocate for harming the inevitable nominee for some indeterminate period of time before eventually advocating for his candidacy. Will that be before or after you and your non-monolithic colleagues throw a public temper tantrum at the convention?
(Not that there’s likely to be an in-person convention this year, of course. Every plague has a silver lining, I guess, and this one’s is that the Bernie dead-enders won’t get any attention paid to them in prime time.)
Chicago? Northwestern? Highly unlikely, unless he can bring in large amounts of funding with him.
A smaller, Catholic school? Maybe, yes. Especially if someone were to endow a chair for him or some such thing.
Yep, you win. I’m an evil dead end Bernie-crat.
Well, for what it’s worth, I found the remonstration as out of place as you did.
Perfect. We need to hold our OWN party accountable. This was a long time coming.
Great news! Congratulations Marie.
I don’t know, even for a politician (or ex-politician) he’s pretty fugly.
Nobody is unbiased.
I assume that she’s decided that Biden is the best shot at a win. I hope she’s right.
I am a “big tent guy”, I am happy to have democratic house members in red districts be anti-abortion. I respect personal choice, and realize that we need to allow people who push pro-life possitions to be in the tend in certain places, provided they agree on other issues with us.
However, Lipinski voted against the ACA, and he has been somewhat of an abortion extremist. And given his district, I have no issue with him getting taken out in a primary.
This said, I would not want some of the other blue dogs primaried, as that would probably hand the seat to a republican.
This one though, glad to see him gone.
