I go through feeling encouraged and completely bleak that anything will happen other than further destruction of the country. Today I feel hopeful so that’s what I’m going with.

I think not having filed the subpoenas on McGahn and Hicks is a problem. The financial records, while nice to have, aren’t central to anything in the Mueller Report. That said, I get if Pelosi wants to show the financial corruption side as well as obstruction and collusion as the best case to take to the people.
However, I don’t think that means you don’t open the inquiry now. It will accelerate the pace of information and the Dems ability to both message and prevail in courts. I still have issues with that fundamental strategic choice.

No doubt the delay is making me nervous but today Pelosi acknowledged she’s going to pull the trigger even if they don’t get where they want to. But she’s waiting till some of our powerful cards are played. She didn’t say it in these words, but when some big cards go down there will be a wave for Impeachment and she wants to ride that wave as the most effective way to hold the GOP Senator’s feet to the fire as election season becomes a focus in the next year. And that is important - we need the Senate so we don;t lose a whole generation in the Supreme Court.

That’s going to happen regardless. The “news vacuum” is the same emptiness an addict feels in withdrawal, and in this case it’s the MSM who is balls deep in addiction…mainlining the ad revenue that comes by throwing all journalistic integrity out the window and running with whatever abjectly insane counterfactual delusion-fuel Trump vomits and will get the most clicks and views. We could start impeachment tomorrow and instead of covering the largely boring congressional processes taking place, the MSM would chase after Trump’s latest mentally ill squirrel distraction like a faithful greyhound.

I’ve been dismissive of Pelosi but I watched the press conference and what I heard was, ‘impeachment not now but soon.’ I actually thinks she means to do it, but maybe I’m just gullible. No question she has badly mismanaged all of this but she can still stage a 4th quarter comeback.
If someone on her communications teams want to tell a reporter that, ‘one doesn’t launch a new show in August,’ then that would go a long way to calming people down. If she needs a few favorable court rulings in order to kick things off in September then great.
If she is just stalling for time then all of the Dems need to stfu, and we can prepare for 4 more years of Donald Trump followed by a couple of decades of Ivanka.
