I thought she seemed a lot less adamant about it today. But right now she doesn’t have the votes in her own caucus for impeachment. It is up to the Democrats in Congress to educate everybody via hearings on what has transpired in the last 2.5 years that warrants an impeachment inquiry. It remains to be seen if they actually will do anything.

I heard Pelosi make the most impeachment-friendly remarks that I’ve heard from her this year.
The headline is both inflammatory and stupid.
That makes it match the Purity Scolds and their whining.

Really TPM? That is not AT ALL what she said in the press conference. She said we ask for WH cooperation until THEY make the case for us that we need to move to impeachment through their refusals. She said repeatedly that she wants the case to be ironclad. She said she wants the public to know what we know. The reporting here has deteriorated. Sad.

Even if Mueller’s Report had been a real humdinger and he had gone further and been more forceful…a great many people were not going to read it.
Even if Mueller had descended throwing lightning bolts into these hearings, Billy Barrrrrr and Chump and all the Flying Monkeys and Fox would have been working the same long, loud con that they are now.
Mueller’s report is already old news. It was when it wrapped up, it was even older when it was released (by the way, Chump and Barrrr had the inside preview and knew every savory detail inside and out while everyone else had to pick thru the bones and were being denied the redactions). It was older still after Barrrr molested it for days and then weeks of wrangling about how he released it and now months of trying to rebuild what Barrr/Chump purposely blew up. Oh, and not one other R witness has cooperated since - while they gag every.single.government.employee past and present.
Barrrr took over basically about the same time the Ds won back The House. The D’s really couldn’t do anything until seated and committees formed in 2019. The Mueller Report dropped I think late March? and here we are late July. Most D investigations had to dance and tip toe around Mueller for the first few months. All the D investigations had to work with, work around, or manage to totally avoid Mueller’s initially. Then, some of those investigations and most certainly Impeachment…were going to flow from Mueller or build upon it. What a handicap, since…

Not that ANY D had any choice in the matter, but giving the whole thing to Mueller and then waiting with nothing else to do and no other organizations pushing these leads…for 2 years…was what allowed all of this to grow stale and shrink in the distance. Barrrr comes along and mops up all the side prosecutions that Mueller farmed out and IT’S ALL PELOSI’S FAULT.

Well, at least now we know where the author and TPM stand. Pelosi’s been pretty clear she’s not “anti-impeachment” and TPM is wading deep into asinine click-bait territory just to get there. She came closer to indicating we’re on track for it than she has to date and that the goal is to just complete the process of getting as much information as possible first. My disappointment in TPM’s reporting is rising.

As I said on another thread this presser was the most hopeful I’ve been about impeachment. I really think they were building the case for it. Pelosi, maybe less so, as I’m sure she gets tired of everyone asking her and making her out to be the one holding this up.
I feel very encouraged.

I saw movement from Pelosi. It’s not where I want it to be, but I did get the sense the leadership was much more ready to contemplate an impeachment inquiry. I don’t think they believe it will be the political loser that was feared by them a few months ago. I think going through this exercise helped their confidence.
That said, it’s not where I think it should be and time is not unlimited. I do hope they’ll move soon. Otherwise, Trump will fill the news vacuum with his own narrative and shape the election.

I watched the whole presser. Pelosi basically said that she’d start impeachment when the time was right like I thought all along. There are still a bunch of cards to play and we’ve got face cards and the crime family and criminal political party have 5’s and below. Give it time folks, we do have some. There was definitely movement and acknowledgement that she’ll impeach, the only question is when. All the sky’s-falling, Pelosi-haters need to chill.
