There doesn’t need to a disagreement about the duration or source of Trump’s idiocy and terrible decision-making. It does not have a single etiology, his brain is like the end of (spoiler) “Murder on the Oriental Express”: it was suffocated by parental neglect, stabbed by congenital stupidity, poisoned by greed, shot repeatedly by dementia, and decapitated by grand mal narcissism.

I said he was always superficial. But the language differences just in sentence structure and coherence between just a few years ago and now are dramatic. Everyone who does cognition for a living says there’s something going on. They can’t say what without examining him but his brain certainly works differently and not as well.

As a civilian working on a Marine base for 6 years doing financial counseling and 0 interest loans I never saw it. Often when I was dealing with a client due to disciplinary fines and or demotions I often was able to find an officer up the chain who would ok the assist.

He used to speak more like Ivanka does today, stringing together a pretty meaningless bunch of words and phrases that give the impression of saying something of significance. There was a semblance of coherence.
Now it is all self aggrandizement, non sequiturs, repetitions and stream of consciousness blather. There is no coherent or overarching narrative and he is incapable of staying on topic to answer a question.
Each rally is a repeat of the one before with perhaps a new one liner or two and his sense of grievance is pervasive.

As one who was a young O1, 12alpha who served two tours in Vietnam. I speak to my experiences from that day and age.
Most of my men were draftees. Yours either volunteered or were given the choice of prison or jarhead by a judge somewhere
I stand on what I posted. Note that it’s not a generalization.

Trump has spent an entire life looking at ethics, altruism and other admirable behaviors as both a hindrance and an opportunity to exploit. His dad taught him well. He understands that many people can be quietly coerced or compromised in one way or another into bad behavior that they would not participate in under normal circumstances. He believes any person can be treated that way, seeing a good man or woman to be a myth.
Even if his victims understand it eventually, he uses that as a foil or blackmail when they try to correct. If they try to speak of the high road, he will remind them of when they failed. Publicly to boot. He has forced a lot of people into that dark behavior like a pied piper. Can he understand the value in personally operating ethically as a character trait, no. He would then be as much the sheep as those he is shearing.
Is the population any darker as people now than they had been? Maybe. But it would not be so if he had not existed and worked on the propensity for that behavior.

For me that answer is no. Obama has turned into a we can’t have _____, status quo guy. I am fucking tired of status quo. Status quo will not defeat the Republicans or Trump.
