Ousted Navy Secretary Says Trump Has ‘Very Little Understanding’ Of ‘Fighting Ethically’

I am quite sure of it. Being an American does not mean what he wants it to mean.

Just saying that 20 years ago, you’d have called Trump bright-normal. He could form multipart sentences, all that. He was still a pathologically self-centered, superficial and very concrete vulgarian, but in raw cognition you wouldn’t say there was a problem. Even in 2015 he seemed pretty normal cognitively most of the time. He’s obviously declined drastically since then but there could be moments when he seems more like his old self.

Weird how these Republicans keep going to work for him and only notice he’s a monster after it affects them personally and gets them fired.

BHO really doesn’t want to be a kingmaker, but he had to get this off his chest regarding trumPP, but we already knew this from HRC

After running against Obama’s legacy, and then holding one awkward but collegial meeting in the White House—“He knows absolutely nothing,” Obama privately told a visitor about Trump, immediately after the meeting—Trump discarded historical precedent and began attacking Obama personally as he worked to overturn his policies. For the most part, Obama and his staff chose to ignore the personal and weighed in only on big policy questions.

Even after the election, Obama still “held out hope” that he and Trump could have some kind of normal president/former president relationship, similar to how Obama and George W. Bush operated in 2009. “He wanted to be a resource,” said Kevin Lewis, Obama’s first post-presidential press secretary. “What we didn’t expect at the level that it was done were the attacks.”

I’ll have to take your word for it. I never paid one iota of attention to him. Ever. So, i can’t speak to your observations from any experience. All i see today is a blithering idiot, dementia or not. And yes, i am using the word “demented” in the truest layman’s sense. He never had an ounce of honor. Being POTUS has put that figure into negative territory. Even if he’s diagnosed with dementia, that’s only as good an excuse for who is is at this moment as his bone spurs were for getting out of service. I can’t even apologize for thinking he’s among the most despicable people to have ever lived.

I am a nurse with a lot of experience with dementia and, in my opinion, his exhibits many classic symptoms including loss of vocabulary, inability to grasp any new concepts (he is locked into the 80s, from everything I can see) - and most importantly, his inability to coherently express an idea and the perpetual lying to cover his ignorance. It commingles with his narcissism which makes it a little complex sometimes, but listening to his rant the other day on Fox and Friends could not have been closer than listening to any demented person try to express ideas that were jumbled up into a big gooey mental ball of misinformation and confabulation. Without his handlers, I am pretty sure we would see that tie of his sticking out of his zipper in half of his public appearances. He ain’t gone, but he is going down the same road his father did.

No argument there, and dementia excuses nothing, just to be clear.

“I think a lot of members have to take a hard look at this,” Dent said. “They can be more concerned about their election, or their legacies. And I would argue to many of them: your legacy is more important than the next election.”

Behold, the loud bellows of protest on Dotard’s tantrums from sitting GOP Reps and Senators…

crickets…

I hate to break it to Mr. Spencer but Trump has lived his whole life by the creed of Ayn Rand’s Objectivism which means anything goes for him.

Greed and Selfishness are Trump’s guiding stars and he will be forever faithful to them!

There’s a psychologist on Twitter who works in the personality disorder field who argues convincingly that Trump has always had NPD with Antisocial Personality Disorder comorbidity. He says the calculating behavior of the latter used to act as brake of sorts on the compulsive behavior of the former. But now progressive dementia has upset the balance and broken the APD’s ability to defer gratification of the NPD compulsions.

Speaking as Marine who rose through the ranks (E1-E5, O1-O5) and fought in two wars, the assertion that enlisted personnel resent their officers is pure bullshit. You watch too many Oliver Stone movies.

Power, aphrodisiacs, think along those lines. It’s a potent mix.

It makes me think of all the sycophants that ignored and covered up Saint Ronnie’s gradual loss of faculties in his second term. Ultimately, after he left office, they had to admit he had Alzheimer’s, but made sure not to wonder whether mental decline was affecting him while in office.

I’m not sure his ‘old self’ is much different. From the Mark Singer New Yorker article on Trump from 1997 that you (?) linked to…

The patented Trump palaver, a gaseous blather of “fantastic”s and “amazing”s and “terrific”s and “incredible”s and various synonyms for “biggest,” is an indispensable ingredient of the name brand. In addition to connoting a certain quality of construction, service, and security—perhaps only Trump can explicate the meaningful distinctions between “super luxury” and “super super luxury”—

Not that different from today. I’ve said all along he’s just a stupid person.
