We have not yet seen a transcript of the call, just the trump memo version of the call, and even that is damning.

Makes sense that “Myth” Romney would backtrack…but if he DID, it would be the dumbest backtrack he has ever made [and he has had some doozies (“Money is people, my friend”)].
- He is in Mormon Utah (Trump has vulnerabilities there)
- He is not up for re-election until 2024

What possible benefit could there be from reporting “second whistleblower might come forward” except to give the White House a chance to silence them and to stoke the “media conspiracy/nothingburger” narrative? In fact it gives the White House a strong incentive to do the former to get the latter result.
