NRSC Chair Scott Won’t Say Whether GOP Candidate Accused Of Strangling Wife Should Be A Senator

Well, in fact, we have actual proof that even dyed in the wool Republicans in my solidly Republican district can sometimes reject men who strangle women. I give you Don Sherwood R PA:

On September 15, 2004, a woman locked herself inside the bathroom of Sherwood’s Washington, D.C. apartment, and called 911 to report she was assaulted. When police arrived, the woman, Cynthia Ore, accused Sherwood of choking her, though he maintained he was only giving her a backrub.

Sherwood went on to lose his seat to Democrat Chris Carney in 2006 who managed to even get reelected in a high turnout year, 2008. Alas, the district has reverted to solid Republican since but at least there’s hope.

Of course, statewide is a different issue and Democrats do well more often than not in statewide races.

You have to be caught, convicted, lose appeal, and then lose a civil trial to be truely guilty. And even then half of these mouth breathing idiots will think it’s possible that George Soros rode a space laser from the dark side of the moon to serve the lizard people a supeona against BLM cannibals sponsored by the Clinton foundation.

Cannot be more emphasized. As a citizen of such a vibrant, interesting and diverse country, it has been difficult for me to grok this much much earlier.

Like when the fukker descended down the escalator in 2015.

Perhaps less than completely ironic, given the orange warthog they’ve adopted as their own.

“never raised a hand in anger”

The Googles has this:

A person has a depraved indifference to human life when that person has an utter disregard for the value of human life – a willingness to act, not because he or she means to cause grievous harm [to the person who is injured], but because he or she simply does not care whether or not grievous harm will result.

Is it conceivable that he was truthful as to his mental state when he allegedly strangled her?

Oh, by all means press them and get them on the record on this. And maybe it can be useful in campaigns, debates, etc. I’m just saying it’s utterly unsurprising by now, or should be, that they’re so, uh, pragmatic.

Seriously! Have you heard about the Amish approach to incest & rape? They are required to forgive & forget. But not to protect the victims. Chilling stories!

He’s the cherry on top. When he survived the Access Hollywood scandal it was open season on any remaining scruples.

Respectfully disagree, they need the seat to remain Republican.

she won via a write in campaign and party elders are probably scared of ticking her off again.

But that standard only applies to white people with money, I think.

Perhaps in pleasure? satisfaction? joy?

These GOPers are creepy, creepy men.

That’s what I meant, should have been clearer. They’re hurting for extra votes just like we are. I’m sure as a person she’s an irritant, with her fancy old-fashioned limits on what she’ll tolerate and such.

GOP Pennsylvania Senate candidate Sean Parnell

Is a manly man…

He’s obviously a very angry man, at any rate. Seems to be a job requirement in today’s GOP®.

I’m sadly unconvinced he’ll be the last egomaniac to try after this.

You hit a double today:

(1) Power at all costs
(2) Angry GOPers

That’s not good.

There was always a theory that Pat Paulson’s entrance in the 68 presidential campaign helped to give Nixon a narrow victory and he felt some guilt over it.
Then again you can say the same thing about some of the other third and fourth party candidates who ran.

I may be wrong, but a person like Trump is rare enough to militate against this. JMHO… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

PSU = Pennsylvania Stranglers Unite!
I guess this miscreant Pennsylvania Senate candidate wouldn’t need a gun to kill someone on 5th Avenue in NYC.

My thought exactly.
