Oh, they’re angry white guys, all right. Years ago I was driving in a small town near here and decided a yellow light had lasted too long and I wouldn’t make it through before it turned, so I stopped. Then I see in the rear-view this dude in a pickup (I think) was throwing himself to and fro in the cab, he was so enraged that I hadn’t broken the law and risked a serious moving violation for his convenience. Yelling and throwing himself around. They’re everywhere. Bars, hardware stores, shooting ranges, your Thanksgiving dinner, everywhere. Honestly I think it’s existential angst masquerading as social resentment, being as it is entirely misunderstood by the people feeling it. Just a theory.

A sociopath does not feel emotion so I guess you could argue that he didn’t do it out of malice - he just wanted her dead in the same way that someone might accidentily slap a mosquito on a reflex. A truely chilling defense.
I was assuming it was more a technical cop out ie “i strangled her while she was on the floor and I was on top of her. She was beneath me and thus I lowered my hands in anger.”

And somehow, Democrats rode Al Frankin out on a rail for on old photo of him pretending to grab the breast of a woman pretending to be asleep in a staged photo, while on an active comedic tour as a professional comedian, and long before he entered public service. The same woman admitted publicly that she knew he was doing it and that there was not sexual or abusive intent. She was later revealed to be an agent provocateur trying to make him look bad. All of this happened in the public eye and prior to Congressional “leaders” helping him decide to resign. We gave up one of our smartest and most effective senators because of the appearance of impropriety, but there was no there there.
The Rs, on the other hand, consistently just shrug when actual violent or sexual abuse is revealed. Tell me again why we are consistently getting screwed…
