Well, I have plenty of immigrants around me picking mushrooms all day. That’s been true my whole life. Young men picking mushrooms all day, living communally in rundown houses, going out in their best duds one night a week and sending the rest of the money home so the younger siblings can eat and wear decent clothes. I’ve seen every part of the system both here and in Mexico. They wouldn’t be here if Americans wanted the jobs they do. We’re not giving them handouts, shit. They bust their asses for a few dollars an hour. They’re supporting us. And they’re not lazy. They have more energy and gumption than most people you’ll meet. ā€œNot sending their bestā€ was Trump’s stupidest and most evil lie.

O god I hope so. I’m so damn sick of GOP voter suppression.

Okay, I feel bad for saying this… but he make a decent Hitler impersonator in those photos. Creepily.

His security level isn’t very high as cited and it’s an expensive and time-consuming pain in the ass for clearances to be done, so there’s quite a lot of inertia in this area. At Secret level people shouldn’t be drawing big conclusions about the guy on the work front.

Hope he gets the shock treatment of being held.

Couldn’t agree more. I have never seen a lazy Mexican. Ever. Every one I’ve ever known worked harder than any three Caucasian Americans.

In fact, the people who will tell you they still believe in the American Dream are almost always immigrants. They support us, they believe in our ideals and I fucking hate these people who refuse to see this.

When I was having a new roof installed, we had to force the Mexicans working in the hot sun to stop and eat lunch and drink some of the iced tea I made for them.
I wish I had that kind of stamina.

All government contractors are warned that their use of social media might lead to the revocation of their clearance. The problem isn’t his lower level of clearance, it was the enforcement of existing policy.

Jim Clyburn provided what I have been talking about for months: Righteous Anger.

Clyburn was responding to ANY legislator who even thought about stopping Voting Rights this Legislative Session…or using the so-called ā€œfilibusterā€ ** to do it.

It was a few days ago…and he lent his stature and respect to his pronouncement.

** filibuster, Moscow McConnell style

How does an ā€œavowed white supremacistā€ and ā€œNazi sympathizerā€ maintain a security clearance?

I seriously want an answer on this.

OT food for thought…

That’s a damned good question. Had he been reported by any of his colleagues, he’d definitely be done.

That they didn’t, either because they didn’t feel confidence in leadership or speaking out or it was considered okay is definitely something that should be looked into

Good question! But perhaps moot after his arrest and conviction.

…? Security level is not a ā€œproblemā€ - simply an observation that the cited clearance he had isn’t really high.

The twitter thread of the Politico reporter highlights more disturbing facts than social media use which can easily go unremarked - there is a quote from the NCIS investigation that a Supervisor reported people were intimidated from reporting him as he was perceived as crazy and afraid of him tracking them down. Now that is disturbing. I can see an obscure youtube channel not being caught, but this is significant workplace issues.

Once upon a time, assholes like this were prone to occupational accidents. Just sayin’

Early in my career, I had a particularly un-self-aware and bigoted boss who actually said out loud in the workplace – and these were his literal words – ā€œPound fer pound, yer Mexican is yer hardest worker.ā€

(And you don’t even wanna know what he said about ā€œThe Coloredsā€ and ā€œThe Joosā€ā€¦)

I watch onYoutube a channel full of gufights as photographed by law enforcement, with a follow up commentary on how to best survive-prevail in this gunfight. All of a sudden the nice polite tattooed law enforcement loving teacher says its imporant to make your peace with Jesus evey day as you don’t know if or when you will come home…
So another ā€œguntoting peaceful logical guyā€ on the surface, reminds us his channel welcomes only those who subscribe to his religion. White men with tattoos=anti-semites. Its really true what somebody wrote a few months ago, these white supremecists, no matter what cover they take, hating BLM, hating immigrants coming over the border, whatever. When you clear away all the brush; its their hatred of Jews Of which I am one, that motivates them.

Looking at some of the remarks on this thread, I would say that the American Experiment is Alive and Well.

The Other Side has been lied to…and those are the people (the liars) who truly are Deplorable.

There is a quote in the NCIS report quoted by the prosecutors that is quoted in the Twitter by the Politico reporter that co-workers perceived him as ā€œcrazyā€ and were afraid to report him. By the content of the NCIS report and the tone of the quotes, it sounds like he was the kind of guy his colleagues were afraid would ā€œgo Postalā€ to use that old 80s expression. With 44 if I read it right negative reports on him, it feels like he was none-too-loved. On the other hand the Sergeant supervising him wrote him a letter of support… (it’s stated in the Politico article, the Prosecutors specifically cite the supervising Sergeant contradicts his own testimony to Navy investigators… - now that’s … well … that’s disturbing).
