STOP THE COUNT HE WON!
No, he did not.
He worked for the McCain campaign, but he did not select Palin as the running mate.
It’s because it’s the same cops and their friends doing it. We really need to re-assess how we do law enforcement in this country. The profession attracts too many racists, fascists and plain old sadists. We need take a true democratic approach and have cops drafted from the general population.
That was all McCain’s doing after a recommendation by Bill Kristol.
After today’s vote by the electors, they send certificates of their vote to their state’s chief election official (in most but not all states, this is the secretary of state), the National Archives, and the current president of the Senate.
On January 6, Pence will preside over a joint session of Congress and read the votes by state, in alphabetical order. This is where they are normally just accepted. This year it will be where objections are raised and discussions are had.
Step by step is broken down.
As part of the summer session of defund the police, someone had written that the psychological evaluation is performed as one of the last steps of hiring new officers.
The recommendation was that this evaluation be done first. Not last.
I don’t disagree.
… and the NY Jets have clinched a spot in the “Alternative Playoffs”
Michiganders: who is this guy Eisen?
This is a big deal. Wow.
Happy Electors’ Day!
While I think that members of The Lincoln Project have an enormous amount to atone for, it’s also pretty undeniable that they’re doing the work and trying to do just that. There’s no need to trust or not trust them, but if we simply pay attention to what they’re doing it’s very clear we’re on the same side politically. Maybe not ideologically, and who knows how long we’ll be on the same side, but for now we are and that’s really all that matters.
Desperation strikes deep in the heartland.
I’ve heard the swing state R’s are going to try to send their own slate of electors to Congress for approval, but that’s just a stunt. They don’t have the votes in either chamber to overturn the real EC.
That was fast.
Michigan Republican legislative leaders pulled a GOP lawmaker from his committee assignments Monday after the lawmaker hinted he was part of a group that sought to disrupt or otherwise undermine the Electoral College vote slated to happen at the Capitol this afternoon.**
Rep. Gary Eisen, R-St. Clair Township, made the comments Monday morning during an interview with Port Huron-area radio station WPHM. He was asked about the Electoral College, set to meet Monday in the state Senate chamber to cast the state’s 16 electoral votes for President-elect Joe Biden.
Eisen made the comments in the context of he and others in Lansing having some sort of event, either at the Capitol or somewhere else. He said he could not rule out the possibility of violence.
Punished him for what he did? Or, punished him for letting the cat out of the bag?
I agree so much and the same is true of other GOP who deserted like Bill Kristol. Odious but a valuable voice for sanity.
More, please…
This needs to happen wherever the disruptions take place.
Well, he’s wrong about so many things in that sentence I don’t know where to even begin. These guys are beyond delusional (I know it’s just the grift, but there are those among them that believe this shit).
