Really, this so-called audit is what republicans have been doing for decades: They come to a conclusion based on sheer faith, then they go hunting for evidence to support that conclusion. Anyone or anything that stands in their way is blasphemous – even if it’s the truth. Maybe particularly if it’s the truth. They’ve been doing this for decades, raising the stakes each time. We’re reaching the point of them going all-in.

How is it, again, that the results of this so-called “audit” are legally binding? This exercise is not publicly funded, so how can it be considered legally unbiased and accepted by the Arizona Attorney General? Furthermore, it is being conducted with utmost secrecy, so no one can verify if these “auditors” do not change or illegally throw out any votes. How can this be considered legal???

What they are doing has no benefits for their side. The anger on display is in denial of grief. By continuously delegitimizing the loss, they aren’t processing it and moving on. Inevitably, a number of them will see no point to voting because their own side has convinced them that it’s all rigged.
If just 4% do this, that hands the Dems a big advantage in some contests and allows them to better target competitive races.

I think it is simply drudge up some convoluted garbage (uv lights showed some folds meaning no human ever touched this ballot, hence fraud) to create more BS justifications for voter disenfranchisement, and then rile up the crazies for 2022.

They will undoubtedly find fraud and claim Trump actually won… but reversing the election is not the goal (even the AZ State 'pubs aren’t that stupid). Their goal is to use their audit as a launchpad for passing restrictive, racist election laws that will ensure that their side WILL win in 2022 and beyond.

I remember Tea Partiers thinking that if Obama were found to be ineligible for the Presidency (born in Kenya of course) then every single piece of legislation he signed – the stuff they didn’t like – would instantly become null and void.
