I’m local to the Alligator Auschwitz area. Local news, WINK, covered it relatively objectively. Included coverage of the protestors at the entrance but mainly from the environmental damage/native american concerns viewpoints.
I felt bad for the that tall SS agent accompanying Trump. Clearly bothered by the heat, humidity and insects in the videos I saw. I’m guessing in addition to the black suit and tie he had a light Kevlar vest under his shirt.
Trump’s, Desantis’ Noem’s glee at this is disgusting beyond words.

your mother is probably tougher than you think she is, at 88 she has seen and heard it all many times over.i am 94 and nothing surprises me ; i despise people like TRUMPF , IMO, we older people need to speak up if for no other reason , to remind the youngsters, the USA wasn’t always like this…we always disagree on a lot of things, but the current cruelty and lies must not be ignored…or forgiven

Appreciate the dilemma. For some reason, the mention of the guillotine strikes me as a historical reference to an artifact of the French Revolution, not necessarily an incitement to violence. Like a reference to crucifixion is not a suggestion someone actually do it. These times are warping my mind in very yucky ways.

Creepy side benefit to this disgraceful display is that it draws attention to all the ‘for profit’ detention centres being built around the country. Perhaps they all deserve descriptive names on large signs?

Agreed. A characteristic of narcissists like Trump and Musk is that they lack empathy, and indeed have no concept of empathy. Musk would never think, let alone use, that word. Probably couldn’t define it if asked.
