GOP thinking right now is focused on acquiring and maintaining Power by any means. If they could arrange for no voting whatsoever they would do it with the speed of light.

Trump, by doing away with the GOP habitual “pivot”, has validated the premise that they only need an indoctrinated group of people, the exact size of which would be determined by how many people from whom they can deny the vote.

That’s not how the right to counsel works.

“To this date, she does not know where her husband is buried,” he said.

I hope this still isn’t true.

The best people…

2 It is unclear if and when Mr. Marshall will be able to obtain a bar license, given that Mr. Marshall currently faces felony criminal charges in two cases in the Court of Common Pleas of Fayette County, Pennsylvania: No. CP-26-CR-859-2021 (multiple counts of intercepting communications and unlawful use of an audio device in court), and No. CP-26-CR-851-2021 (multiple conspiracy and theft-related counts). According to public reports, the latter case involves charges arising from Mr. Marshall’s alleged participation in a conspiracy to commit fraud while clerking for a judge on the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas. Have these people asked for this Counsel ? If so they picked a dead bum. At some point the Judge has to say you are not represented by Counsel because he’s dead or absconded with your money and left the country. So…you can sit in the “cooler” until you find another bum, or I can assign a Public Defender. Either way your trial is on Dec. 1st, and I would not recommend defending yourself in my Court. Happens all the time.

This is a prime example of just how totally fucked up Trumpy attorneys , so called conservatives, truly are. They cannot ever represent their clients. No attorney with an IQ above 5 would treat clients like this. Pierce should have his license to practice taken away, assuming he isn’t dead already. In which case I’m truly pleased.

Hurray! You have been missed! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thanks - it looks like it will be a quick in and out - the hospital just called and they have me scheduled for surgery on Thursday.

That has left me slightly breathless.

Clapton never liked the great Jimi Hendrix because 1) he played a Fender Stratocaster better than Eric could ever dream off, and 2) he was black. That’s all you need to know about Clapton other than he has completed the asshole trifecta and is now an anti-vaxxer because he didn’t like the side effects of his coronavirus vaccine shot that likely SAVED his sorry wrinkled old ass. Shit happens, but you can’t make THIS shit up.

I’m just stuck on the “you’re gonna have to bust this door down”, which implies that he’s willingly at home, not forced by lockdown to be there. Should have been something like him busting out.

Uh, that’s not how I’ve heard it…

Upon seeing Clapton, Chandler inquired if London’s reigning guitarist was all right. “Is [Hendrix] that f*cking good?” Clapton asked him. Chandler figured he’d heard Hendrix play “10 bars [of music] at the most.” That was enough to get the picture.

“Within a week, Clapton had his hair frizzed [like Hendrix’s] and would come by our flat anytime he had a spare moment, to be with Hendrix,” Chandler said.

I think I’d like the ad better if the phone number actually went to the FBI.

I’d check all the flights to Brazil or any other country that doesn’t extradite.

That’s not how Federal Public Defenders work. They often have more time and resources to put into a case than all but the most expensive private attorneys. Like all defense attorneys, they often counsel their clients to accept a plea deal. But that’s because much of the time that’s the best option.

Why? Well, it may seem like people have a good chance of getting off if they go to trial. But that’s in part self-selection. Cases where the government has substantial proof often plead out for lower sentences, while the more “iffy” cases end up going to trial. (Or end up in a really good deal.)**

**NOTE: There are plenty of exceptions, but that’s generally how it works out.

They have all engaged him to defend them (although one or two have also fired him).

The choice is between accepting appointment of a public defender and proceeding to trial pro se. The judge cannot unilaterally declare that the defendant’s chosen counsel cannot defend the case, so long as he remains entitled to practice law in the jurisdiction.

Fantastic. Better to not have too much time to think about it, better to just dive right in and get it done. I am sending you good wishes for a perfect outcome. All my best, @tena. :hugs: :kissing_heart:
