There was a bit of tongue pointed to the side of my face. From the prosecution side, I certainly understand, and appreciate the need to prove each case individually. That said, it would not be illogical, IMNLO (in my non-lawyer opinion) to develop a general defense theory that could universally apply to all defendants, or at least the set of 17 that are impacted here. But thanks for the more legally accurate analysis.

The USAO’s brief is worth a read, if only as a gem of understatement. Pierce’s associate, a Mr. Ryan Joseph Marshall, who has been standing in for Pierce, is yet not licensed to practice law and, given that he is under indictment in Pennsylvania, may have a few hurdles to surmount before that happens. You know, that could be a problem.

One of the cases (I understand there’s another):

She’s not admitted to practice in D.C., so per the local federal rules she would have to get a member of the local bar to sponsor her. And oops, Rudy’s been suspended already.

You’re right… not illogical at all. There are often joint defense strategies at play.

For example, I remember a case with 7 defendants where the group theory was that the wiretap tapes were basically unintelligible and did not say what the FBI agents claimed. But each defendant’s attorney was careful to point out why this or that particular piece of evidence didn’t apply to his or her particular client. All attorneys pursued both tracks to make sure their clients had the best chance.

Hey good to hear from you, I hope you’re doing well.
I guess an ethical lawyer would not take on new clients if they were under the threat of disbarment, but we’re not talking about ethical lawyers.

The Judge should just dismiss Pierce and assign these bastards Public Defenders who will tell them to plead guilty and beg for mercy from the Court. These people are not worth the time and effort to vigorously defend. If the Fed’s charged them, they are guilty as sin.

As for Pierce, he is obviously another case of Darwin’s wisdom. If you want to play “stupid” to look “tough guy”, just know the virus is much tougher than you, KILLS indiscriminately, and can’t be voted out of office or prosecuted. Playing politics with COVID-19 is a fool’s errand, and so a LOT of fools have died and a lot more will find the same fate. Fuck 'em - they were told and thought they knew better. Lawyers don’t just disappear unless they are stupid or bums.

A full body scan, because who knows where they left their brain.

God no we’re not.

She’s walking malpractice. She ever steps outside of Trumpworld, she’s likely to get sued by a disgruntled client.

Have you ever had a gruntled client?

Here’s a description of one of Ryan Joseph Marshall cases:

Fayette County court assistant, law clerk accused of defrauding widow, late husband | TribLIVE.com

Accused of defrauding widow, late husband” doesn’t look good on your resume.

Well I hope some of them at least were gruntled. Beats the alternative. :joy: :joy: :joy:

This pile on Biden has over stepped and reached its saturation point, just as the RW/news media always does. Without the 24/7 hysteria people will go back to stressing over Covid (if they ever stopped) and life will go on.
