There is self made destiny and things out of our control.
Look into the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama without all the trappings.
The 4 noble truths and the eightfold path.
Then think about it and see if it makes any sense to you.
From yesterdayâs NYT:
At a time of deep partisan division, in a Southern California congressional district where Democrats narrowly outnumber Republicans, voters interviewed over the weekend were largely united on at least one issue: After a two-decade war, President Biden was right to pull American troops out of Afghanistan.
Afghanistan could be ignored, they said, but the possibility of their too-young-to-be-vaccinated children getting sick could not. Leaders in Washington might worry about the threat of terrorism or Americaâs standing with allies, but voters in Hacienda Heights said they were far more concerned about issues affecting them directly: Covid-19, homelessness and climate change, to name a few.
Youâre BACK!!!
Whoo hoo!!!
Thanks - I really do appreciate all the goodness sent my way.
Only temporarily it seems. But thanks for the whoo hoo!!
I have seen this kind of bizarro uncertainty bubble manifest in other cases where antivaxxing antimasking deplorables get COVID and but the epistemological threat admitting it represents to those who around him without tubes shoved down their throats cause them to just randomly hiccup shit out.
Do a search on turkeytail mushrooms, theyâre an amazing food for fighting cancer and your immune system.
That said, itâs very good to see you again!
Iâm still not able to detach my thinking from the idea of super determinism predicated by the Big Bang. The concepts of free will and self made destiny are hard to reconcile with a closed system universe whose laws are beyond control.
Thanks and I will look for that mycellum.
My surgeon is a big believer in marijuana for cancer, too. He was delighted when I told him I had cannabis - told me to smoke as much as I want cause it is a cancer fighter, too.
As if Americans are the only ones who want to their lives.
Tommy Chong developed cancer in prison and blamed the Bush administration because he didnât smoke while incarcerated.
He shouldnât have been in prison in the first place, so yeah.
Youâre right about that. I expect that at some point the judge will hold an on-the-record colloquy with the defendant present to make sure they understand the situation and do (or donât) want to continue with current counsel.
Iâd love to be a fly on the wall for that hearing. Particularly the part where the defendant finds out his stuff is being handled by an unlicensed attorney who is out on bond for multiple felony charges.
As my mother (85 at the time) said, âIf I were supposed to believe in determinism, I would.â
I LOVE that!
OUCH!!!
FU discobot, that is as complete a sentence as I need.
Heâs picked up a whole stable of Jan 6 defendants who are described as âpolitical prisonersâ and who have the less-than-tacit support of the most vocal and populist leaders on the Republican right. Remember all that money that was raised for just Rittenhouseâs defense? This guyâs his lawyer.
It might be more fruitful to check the Cayman Islands, just sayinâ.
(Or if you swing the other way, Hillaryâs backyard.)
Have noted your absence and wondered more than once whatâs up.
Donât know what the story is, though from your comments here am guessing and all I can say is best of luck on Thursday. And after.
You read it here first:
Thanks - if you want to send me a PM I can fill you in.
