But, the committee has to observe the forms, so first the request, then the subpoena, then the referral for criminal contempt. Then the man from the rub-a-buckeye state will file suit against the committee and pelosi and the cafeteria staff with a copypasta of markymeadows’ stop-being-a-meanie suit.

Not boom. This was an ex parte TRO which is rarely granted and almost always decided very quickly because the party filing it asks to court to urgently act without even a response from the party that will be enjoined. To gain that kind of relief, it has to be practically a life or death decision and requires VERY strong evidence of irreparable harm to the moving party.
txlawyer can confirm all of this, but I’ve actually been the target of an ex parte TRO (denied) in the past and as with Michael Flynn in this case, it’s typically filed in the hope of finding a judge willing to swallow any BS the moving party might present.
